I want to talk about the part where she starts to imagine herself as a superhero. I thought that was interesting, and I was wondering if she just imagined it, or if she like drew it down somewhere. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing, I think she was imagining it because of when she accidentally kicked her mom it was because she was imagining something. So maybe she was imagining herself being a superhero.
DeleteYeah, well maybe she was acting the superhero stories out, and that's why she kicked her mom. Or she could have just imagined it, but then why did she not realize it, and then kick her mom?

DeleteI want to talk about the part where her mom took who to a church. I though it was kind of rude how her mother told the whole group her daughter was deaf. I don't think she wanted people to talk to her really loud and really slow. What did you think?
ReplyDeleteIn a way, I agree. Cece likes it better when people don't know that she is deaf. Her mom told everyone right away. But also, maybe she was trying to show her that she didn't have to be embarrassed about it. And, I think it would be better for her if she told the people to stop talking like that.
DeleteI want to talk about the part where Mike and his family moved in a couple houses down from where Cece lives. I thought it was interesting that Cece actually liked someone because she really doesn't express feelings for anyone. What did you think?
ReplyDeleteI agree. Besides Mike, she didn't ever really express her feelings towards anyone. I think it's weird how she doesn't talk about how she feels about her family more often.
DeleteI agree with you. Because she never really expresses feelings for anyone including her own family. I was thinking that maybe she's not very good at expressing her feelings very well. But I'm not very sure.
DeleteI thought the same thing when I read it. I also thought it was funny when she was losing her vision and then when she looked at Mike she could see him crystal clear.

ReplyDeleteI agree and think that it was a good idea to teach her sign language because then cece has more ways of communicating.
DeleteI agree I don't get why Cece hates when people do it, they are just trying to communicate with her in a different way.
DeleteI agree with you. I think it will be more useful for her at school, other public places, and especially when she gets older. But I really don't know why she hates it so much. I think she should at least try it.

DeleteThe book El Deafo is buy far the best graphic novel I have ever read! The part that I thought was most interesting was when she made up " El Deafo". I like how she ties her own life into this made up superhero but is still making it funny. What do you think?

DeleteI want to talk about the part where Cece went over to Laura's house and Laura played a trick on Cece into thinking they were playing a game but, instead told her dog to bite Cece. I thought that was very mean of Laura, why would she do that and does she do that to all of here friends or just Cece because she is deaf? What did you think?
ReplyDeleteI think that Laura does that to all her friends for the reason that when Cece is listing down reasons to be Laura's friend on page 49 she puts down that Laura doesn't mind Cece's hearing aids Making me think that Laura wouldn't have told the dog to bite her just because she has hearing aids.

DeleteI was thinking that too because it would be helpful for Cece to learn sign language so that sometimes she wouldn't have to wear the phonic ear.

DeleteNo, because it was just an accident. It really wasn't anybody's fault and Cece was fine after it happened. So I think Martha should talk and be around Cece again.
DeleteNo, it was not her fault and she shouldn't be hiding and running away from Cece because of an accident. I think that they should become friend again.
DeleteNo, they should try to talk i mean after cece told martha that it wasn't her fult she felt bad and i think that martha knew after a while that it wasn't her fult maybe when she thoughtabout it she didn't want to talk about it because if they hadn't been running it wiuld never happened but it was an accident but martha didn't take it as one till later

ReplyDeleteI want to talk about the part where mike found out the she has a super power aka (micro phone atached to teacher so she can hear) nd mike asked her to listin for the tacher coming back to class so the kids could sit down and get back to quite math and when she suceed i wounder how she felt and what she would'ov fekt if sh failed whoulf everyone hate her for getting them into trouble or forgive her tell me what you think
ReplyDeleteI want to talk about the part where Cece got her bendable pencil. And then that kid Johnnie broke her pencil and then later when they got to school Mike Miller made Johnnie apalagize to Cece.I wondered if Mike miller felt the same way as Cece does to him.What do you think?
