  1. Interesting: The thing that interested me the the most is the homeless shelter. I don't know why but seeing people do good deeds is really cool because it shows lots of character and not many do that anymore. GOOD FOR HIM doing good deeds.

    1. I went to a homeless shelter once. There were only three girls there though. But we did their nails and we gave kinda spa treatments. It was cool. I liked it.

    2. I think it was cool how he added that in the book because it shows how nice of a guy he is.

    3. I like that too, like it kinda adds to the title Becoming A Man Of Compassion And courage

  2. The thing i found interesting was that when Eric was on the bus he was talking to a bosnian women the spoke english, but the only reason she seemed to talk to him was to make him feel bad about what america was doing. I get that the country needed help, but it's not like Eric was the one who decides all the major decisions. If she wants to grill someone she should grill the president or the government. But that seems stupid to me.

    1. I agree! Why did she seem to think that Eric was the one who represented America, and that getting him to change his mind would change everyone else's mind in America. I do understand that she is very mad that no one is helping them, but she didn't have to take it out on him, he was trying to help!

    2. I didn't really get that part because like you said all she wanted to do was make him feel bad about his country. And yeah he can't really control what the major people do.

  3. Something that interests me In The Warrior's Hearts, is the part in the book when Eric learned how to box, because it gave a lot of detail on what they had to do. He also boxed with a professional boxer but the boxer beat him so he trained and trained and he finally got to fight a guy name Mo and he beat him.

    1. I thought it was cool how you got an insight of what it's like to train for boxing.

  4. The thing that was the most interesting to me was, how Eric was trying to box with a professional boxer. He didn't practice at all, all he did was do push ups, and sit ups. Then after he did his push ups, and sit ups, he went to someone and asked who he could fight. After he got his butt handed to him he got a trainer and now they are traing together.

    1. He was sparing with what looked like a professional. And I really loved that he had enough courage to try. Also he kept at it so that was so awesome.

  5. Something I found interesting is that Eric is learning to box. I thought it was a horrible idea for him to fight this other guy that was really good before he ever trained. I thought it was hilarious when after he had been training for 3 years and was ready to fight, Mo thought he wasn't even worth fighting, but ended up getting beat up by Eric.

  6. I found the Homeless shelter part really interesting, the fact that everyone thinks that homeless people have no jobs and don't do anything and it saying that and explaining in such great detail what it's like to be homeless and how everyone acts like a family there

    1. I know right! People just automatically think homeless people have no jobs.Just because they can't afford a house doesn't mean they can't afford food.

  7. Something that I found interesting, was when Mo was looking for someone to spar with at a competition and he wasn't sure about sparing with Eric. Then he pretty much had to back down because Eric was so good was even beating him.

  8. I wanted to discuss the death of Juan Carlos. I thought that it was sad and he was so little but i also wonder if the rest of the little kids know whats going on. Like if they know that he died. Or know that he's dead.

    1. I personally think they knew, but not until later like the last minute. I am so surprised that they were so brave

    2. Yeah, I agree with Jaden because they kind of acted like they knew something.

    3. I don't think it was right how the priest was late to a funeral.. he should be the first one there.

  10. What I read was more about the kids he helped then himself. I thought it was upsetting that when Carlos died that the priest wasn't even that upset, and I feel like you should at least show some emotion when someone dies, especially when you live in a small country and everyone is so close.

    1. I agree! Of all people, the Priest, the person doing the sevice should show respect!

  11. I found it really sad that Juan Carlos died because of a broken bone. No one thought anything of it, because it was just a broken bone, but because of the hospitalization that was horrible there, it became infected and he died. That was really sad. Also it was sad that it seemed like no one cared. The priest didn't have much respect, he showed up late! I found that sad.

    1. exactly, no one would ever think that someone would die from a broken bone. And the priest could at least show a little respect to the family I mean they just lost their kid.

      Delete
    2. Me too. I felt that that shouldn't have happened to such a young kid. It was just a broken bone. Did you see the picture of him in the little section of pictures?

  13. I found it sad that a little boy (Carlos) died because of a broken collar bone. I mean here in America no one would ever really think that someone would die because of a broken bone. But I guess America isn't like most countries. It mad me kind of mad when Eric said that the priest showed up late. Some people need to learn to respect others. Especially at times like that.

    1. Sometimes people are late to things, His funeral was probably last minute and hard to find another preist

    2. Yeah, and I also thought it was really sad when no one really cared that Carlos died.

    3. I completely agree! It is really sad that just because of a broken bone, and bad hospital care he died. I was mad too when the priest didn't show any respect. If I was in carlos's family I would've been really mad at him.

    4. I thought that it was kinda sad then and it kinda made me think that like what if that boy could have been something great? Lilke it wsa sad your right

    5. Jaden, yea sometimes people are late to things but a funereal is the one thing that you shouldn't be late to. even if it's late minute.

  14. I found it funny when the people in BUD/S were doing the helicopter thing where they had to grab on to the ladder. Then when it got to Eric it went straight up and Eric was like...where did it go.

    1. That whole thing kinda like confused me. I had read it and it seemed like so much was going on it confused me.

    2. At first I was like wait what just happened. I had to reread it until I realized what had happened.

  15. I wanted to discuss why Greg Hall had to do 20 push ups for being alive. If you were happy for him you wouldn't do that in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Its because they had to do pushups for everything and technically he made the mistake of getting stuck on the ladder so to me it makes sense.

      Delete
    2. Just for being lucky and not being dead, better 20 push ups above ground then burred 6 feet under it ;)

      Delete
    3. I thought that was weird too, but I think it was just the instructors having a sense of humor and trying to lighten the mood a bit.

      Delete
    4. Exactly, they should be happy he didn't die because now they have more people to train and for people to join the SEALS

      Delete
    5. Well, it is like basic training so why would you give him something that would make him fat or slow him down when really he's getting a physical advatage.

      Delete
    6. Exactly, everyone (the Instructors) almost seemed like they were mad that he lived. It's like give the guy a break. They already have it hard enough.

  16. I want to talk about how they can survive so much pain and torture and still have energy to do swims and runs even though they get barely any sleep.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well, people say you need 8 hours of sleep (just to be that smarty pants: your brain was meant to take four hour rest twice in a day, that is why naps are okay)(More smarty pants stuff: If you sleep less than 4 hours or more than 10, you can die younger) but they are so trained to be fit that the last thing on their mind would be sleep and they get naps every now and then. My step mom works graveyard shift and only gets 4 hours of sleep and she is not as focused as compared to my dad who sleeps the full 8 hours, this is based on my own experiences

      Delete
    2. ....over an extended period of time, example over the course of ten years or so.....( that was for the smarty pants answer because it was confusing)

      Delete
    3. If you can die if you get less than 4 hours of sleep and they get naps and breaks, does it matter if you are working hard or just sitting around? Also, does it matter if you take 5 minutes of sleep a lot during a day adding up to 4-10 hours or if you take a 4-10 hour sleep?

      Delete
    4. I was wondering that too, because I would be worn out if I had to do all that stuff and then go and swim.

      Delete
    5. (another smarty pants:) People can survive 11 days without sleep

      Delete
  17. I just have an opinionated question, How many people do you think will survive hell week and graduate? 2 people? 5 people? All? NONE?!?!

    1. Some have already quit so it can't be all, I have to say that HOPEFULLY 15 make it.

      Delete
    2. I would say about 20 because it seems people are either very ready for it or get really worked up. Also it said later on that 21 people of his original class graduated and finished it

      Delete
    3. I think that the same amount are going to stay in because I mean I would be thinking I made it this far why should I quite now

  18. I thought it was funny how the instructors just watched them go past the grinder and I thought that would be great just to be out their for a whole ten minutes without interruption. How would you feel about it?
