In the book imprisoned they talked about the Americans having hate towards the Japanese. During this Japan was at war with France when they dropped a surprised bomb on pearl harbor.
The main thing that stuck in my mind while reading "Imprisoned" was when Americans were threatening Japanese and even death threats. From what I understood, the Japanese knew about Pearl Harbor and had been planned. After the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, America declared war on the Japanese.
The Japanese were reacting well and they still wanted to stay in America even when they were getting many death threats and rude comments being said to them just because they were either Japanese, or Japanese-Americans.
I am suprised that the Japanese had such good spirit towards how they were being treated.The Americans tried to beat the Japanese spirit but it never worked.

In imprisoned, The Americans are treating the Japanese-Americans badly with threats, and they are hurting them. The Americans also think that the Japanese Americans, were just spies and they were trying to get secret information about America, even though most of them actually came just to get away from Japan.
The Japanese Americans had never done any Espionage(spying) against the united states so i don't know why the US thought this.People even proved that the Japanese had never done any spying.
In the book they talked about how people said a lot of racist comments against the Japanese in front of them. And, they are punishing the Japanese for something they wanted to leave. I didn't think that that made very musch sense.
I agree with that because it truly did not make sense when they were punishing them for something they wanted. Clearly the japanese were truly innocent and should not be punished for this.
In the book "Imprisoned", the Japanese tried to get away from Japan because of what Japan was doing around Asia. The Americans hated that Japanese began living on American soil. Then Pearl Harbor was bombed, and the Americans began sending death threats to the Japanese. I was really impressed with the Japanese determination and how well they reacted to the death threats.

I feel like the Japanese are smart people who know what to do when they see opportunities and they came here thinking what a wonderful place to live and Americans did not think that way because they live here normally with all of the opportunity's . And what made me mad is when they came here and wanted jobs the Americans got mad about them taking jobs that they were not going to take anyway. What do you think about this ?

"Imprisoned" Americans disobeyed their own laws, "Bill of right". It states in the bill of rights. Any person accused of committing a crime has the right to be told what crime he or she is being charged with, followed with they can have a fair public trial last but not least he or she at their trial has the right to have a assistance of a lawyer or a witness, help to testify. But none of these events happened to them, which is very unfair. So the government or the people who issued this broke the law, and till this day, they are not charged for it.
Something that I don't understand is why the Japanese are fighting against their own people, and why the Japanese people are turning on each other. If they were both fighting for the right in america, they should not even be fighting in the first place.
Why did the Americans bring the Japanese Americans to Japan to fight the Japanese, wouldn't some of the Japanese Americans turn on the Americans to fight with their first race? Also, wouldn't some of the Americans shoot the Japanese Americans thinking they were the pure Japanese?
I don't understand why the americans are putting them in camps when they are citizens and are in the land of the free. I think that if Americans can live there so can Japanese. And plus what did they ever do to americans in the first place ?

The government eventually were ashamed because they were forcing people to leave all the things they owned, even though they were in the land of the free.
I dont think it was right for the americans to make the japanese americans fight the japanese because maybe when they were in japan they could have been close friends then fight each other years later. I thought it was brave for the unarmed soldiers to go into caves with many armed enemys but make them surrender.
The Japanese should not have had to fight if they did not want to fight for America. I think that it was not fair that the were forced to fight for America.
It shocked me that they actually let the Japanese out of the imprison camps and gave the $25 and a train ticket to get home. They basically had to start there lives over again but, at least they got a train ticket to get home, and that they got out of the imprison camps.
I think that what the Americans had done to the Japanese and to the Japanese Americans was incredibly wrong because they forced them to leave everything behind and people were buying it for much less than they had bought if for. The fact that some people were tortured so much that they couldn't and wouldn't talk about the event.

The Americas were just straight up rude. They didn't want anything good to happen to the Japanese people. But the Japanese people made everything better for themselves, without any help from the pesky Americans.
Martin W.Sandler was against the Japanese being treated badly he did not like how they were treated he mostly talked about the bad stuff. Martin vary rarely talked about the good but when he did it went right back to the bad stuff and this surprised me i would have thought that he would talk about both good and bad.
Yeah. I think that it was amazing that they didn't snap and started killing people. But after everything they did to them they still fought for their country.
It shocked me that the Germans had used the Jewish people for chemical purpose, they had already put them in camps now they use chemicals and drugs for war on them also. That is just mean think about it they are already suffering so they make them suffer more. i am glad they had saved them from more tests.

In chapters 6 and 7, the Nesi proved their loyalty to the United States by fighting and interpreting. Some of those who interpreted played key roles in winning WWII. And the 100th battalion was amazing. It was also really cool how the 100th was trained at Fort McCoy. I don't understand why the U.S. questioned the Japanese Americans' loyalty.
Exactly, I think it's horrible how Americans treated the Japanese Americans. But it makes me upset how they let them go and gave them $25 bucks to go and make a living. But before that they probably had land or stores that is worth way more than $25.
I think that this book ended without showing the bad about the Japanese even though they were put in camps they still never showed what the Americans thought or what the Japanese did bad. They only showed that the japanese were good and innocent
I really liked how they made the best out of everything. These camps were miserable and terrible, but they made everything better for themselves. They made artificial ponds all by hand. They weren't given any special things, they wanted a better life, and when they came to America, that was the opposite.

When they were let go, they had practically nothing, so it was probably really hard to start over again.
