An interesting part of this book that Simon Wiesenthal never gave up trying to find Adolf Eichmann even though the case kept going cold. Even though they found some information on him, the information wasn't correct, or it did not help them very much at all. They were trying everything, but Simon never gave up.
I thought that it was upsetting and interesting when Zeev tried getting water but the guard just spilt all of it out. I know that they were trying to kill them but it's very sad that they would do such horrible things and act like it's not big deal. The least the guard could've done was give him and his children some water. Even though it wasn't me that it happened to, that little event just made me very upset.
The part that I thought was pretty interesting is when the hunters were spying on Eichmann and the truck went into the ditch. And then one of the hunters called his friend and a towing company and got the truck out but didn't get caught by Adolf Eichmann.
We are surprised at how well the team is treating Eichmann. They all have been really nice and have been giving him the drinks he wants and providing him cigarettes, and they are even getting him a lawyer for trial! I expected them to abuse him and try to annoy him, but it seems to me that it is the total opposite. I believe that this part of the book is very interesting.
I know, but they seem to be doing it because they want him to be good and do what they want. Also it might just be because they want him to be having a good time until the day of the court.
The part I thought was interesting was that Eichmann's bus was really late on the night of the capture. I was thought that Eichmann had left and the team wasn't going to be able to capture him. Also I thought that it was really lucky that the team stayed and didn't leave. If they had left than they wouldn't have been able to capture him. It was a really smart choice to stay.
Even though he was still and they caught him, if they would have left, they could have regrouped and caught him the next night. They seem very good at problem solving at they could capture him at any circumstance.
One thing I thought was a little weird about the capture was when one of the Mossad agents asked him for a moment in spanish and then Eichmann immediately knew to run from him
I'm a little surprised that they are going to give Eichmann a fair shot in Court, but most of all I thought it was weird that they didn't want to hurt Eichmann even while he was in interrogation.
They probably did this because they probably wanted him to do whatever they told him to do with no problems. Also they probably wanted to keep getting answers from him rather than him not telling them the answers.
I believe that they are doing that because they want him to be sort of comfortable. And they also don't want him to commit suicide so he can suffer in court, so they are giving him a fair chance.
I thought that they weren't even going to try him they were just going to put him in jail. They had enough information to put him in jail. I think they are being too nice to him.
I'm very surprised at how many risks are happening at the airports that they need to take Eichmann back to the U.S. They are having chances of getting caught at the airport, but they have not been caught because they are being very cautious. If they could keep him at the safe for as long as they did, then they should be able to get him back to the United States.
I think they were more mad that he was treated Eichmann so well, it looked like they were enjoying their time and the team didn't like that idea. I don't think it was that much about the papers.

DeleteI think that they are scared if they hurt him then he might not be able to go to court and get a death sentence.

DeleteAt least they caught him. If they wouldn't have they are hard workers and would've found another way to capture him, like they already had to do.

ReplyDeleteThey probably didn't want to hurt him because otherwise he might not have signed the papers.

ReplyDeleteI thought they were taking him to Israel

ReplyDeleteI did not get why they made it so the guards did not know which one of them
ReplyDeletekilled eichman.
I think it was so the guards did not feel guilty about hanging someone. Or it was that no one could say which guard killed Eichmann.
DeleteMaybe it was for safety because they have been so cautious throughout the rest of the book so why would they stop now.
DeleteAn interesting part of the story was that the death sentence given to Eichmann was the first and only death sentence given by an israeli court of law.
ReplyDeleteMaybe because nobody had ever committed a crime as big as Adolf Eichmann.
DeleteI was a little surprised by the sentence I thought he would go to prison for live or something like that
DeleteI was surprised that Medad was so mad at Malkin for getting Eichmann to sign the papers saying he would go to Jerusalem.

DeleteI don't know how they did not want to kill Eichman. After all he has done he had killed tons of Jews.
ReplyDeleteThey probably wanted to, but they didn't want to be the people who go to court and get consequences. I also wondered that at one point too.
DeleteI wonder how scary it must have been when they were only 100 feet above the tree tops when they were flying in an airplane.
