Week of January 5th - Each group member needs to comment with a discussion question or idea for the group. Then reply to each other's questions. You will need to reply to at least 3 group members, but feel free to reply to more.
Henri has always needed his fake papers to pass German officers, but why did Henri get stopped by the officer? All of the other officers let him pass, why?
Maybe some the officers were worrying on other people. Maybe one other officers was watching him for a long time and thought it was the right time to look at the papers better.
Why would Tony and the other Catholics help Henri and his family? They are just getting into a dangerous situation by helping the family. Why would they do that?
Some people don't know what to do with their life so they believe in what other people believe in. Hitler had a gift to talk people into doing things that maybe they never would have done in the first place. He thought Jewish people were bad so he shared his thoughts to the world.
I put this book on my top five because the title seemed like a very interesting title for a book.

ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure that the reason why he stopped him is because, he was just making sure that the papers were valid.

DeleteI am very shocked that Hilde's parents were captured by the Nazi's and that she had to live with a catholic family.

DeleteWhy were the good guys firing at the people they were fighting for? They could just make room on the boats.
