Mr. Browne's precept for October was, "Your Deeds are your Monuments." One way we can think about this is the fact that people form opinions about us using our words and our actions.
In this section, we got to know Summer a lot better. What do you think of her? Chose one thing she said or one thing she did that helped you to know what kind of person she is. Explain the words or action and then tell what you think of her.
Respond to others' comments.
I think she is truthful, and she keeps her word. She promised not to tell Jack why Auggie was mad, and when Jack asked, she didn't tell him. That's good, you should never say something you promised not to say..
ReplyDeleteDoes saying "bleeding scream" count or not? I kind of liked the part where she didn't tell, but she did hint so that Jack could figure it out.
DeleteYeah i would also agree that Summer is truthful. But i also think that she felt kinda sorry for Jack because she told him Bleeding Scream
DeleteWell, she did say ''bleeding scream'' but like, she didn't flat out say ''YOU ARE FAKING TO BE HIS FRIEND'' so.. He was going to annoy her for the rest of the day if she didn't hint it, and he might not have even got the hint.
DeleteI don't think that it would count because she isn't telling him the whole story. He did ask for a hint and that's what he got.

DeleteI think Summer is a kind and caring person, when people ask her why do you hang out with the zombie freak she says "Don't call him that, I sit with him because I want to sit with him and one day he was sitting by himself and I felt bad for him so I sat by him and we became friends. Summer is a really great person
ReplyDeleteI agree too. She even admits his face is hard to get used to even after 2 weeks. I would too if i was a friend of someone who has Treacher Collins.

DeleteI think Summer is a kind person. She gets asked why she sits by August and she doesn't say bad stuff like Jack did. She tells them she's friends with Auggie. She also tried to not offend August when she asked about his face. She genuinely cares about others. I also think it shows she's nice when she wouldn't tell Jack why August was mad. She kept her promise. Also, she's so nice, she couldn't sit and watch Jack suffer so she gave him a hint. Therefore, I think Summer is a very kind person.

ReplyDeleteI think Summer is pretty nice & trustworthy person, because any person could say "August is a good person and they don't care about how his face looks" and don't really mean it on the inside. But Summer just comes out and admits that August's face is hard getting used to even after 2 weeks. That's how i know shes nice and a trustworthy person.

DeleteI agree too because summer does really want to be friends with August and she acually means it because she says she likes August even though tit takes a while to get used to his face.And She does like a whole lot mean it unlike other charaters in the book. :)

I think Summer is really a nice person. At first, she admitted that when she first sat by august it was out of pity but, now she just likes being by him!.

I like her...she's nice i mean, Auggie was sitting alone and she came up to him and sat there....it's sweet of her and He didn't have many friends at all! Charlotte and Summer..i think that's it..yea that is so..good job summer :)
ReplyDeleteI think Summer is a nice girl and kind girl because the popular girl said why do you sit by him and she said because he is nice and she wanted to. And she didn't tell Jack what Auggie had told her not to say except she gave Jack a hint and the hint was Bleeding Scream.
ReplyDeleteI think that Summer id a very nice person. I think this because in the first day of school, she had said she sat by auggie because she was feeling bad for him. And that she had sat by him because all the friends at her table were whispering about him, and that he was the new strange kid to a new school.

DeleteI think that summer is a very nice person! I think it's cool that when people ask her why does she sit and hang out with him she says because he's a nice kid. And that she wasn't asked by Mr.Tushman to hang out with him or talk to him. Also that she makes sure her mom doesn't look at him in a weird way, or says something mean.
ReplyDeleteI thought that Summer was a super nice person because she went to the Halloween party and stood up for August. And even after that just because they were picking on August she left early! She is one of the most amazing storybook characters ever in my opinion.
