I think the poem, 'Met' is the most important in this season. I think this, because this is the part where her and her dad meet back up after she tried to leave. When they are actually talking, when before, they didn't. She knows that her dad loves her and she starts to forgive him. That's why that poem is so important.
I think the most important poem is Met. I think it's most important because all the pieces fit together. They talk to each other, and everything is all happy. It makes me happy ^-^
I think the most important poem of the season was "Met".. I think that because thats when her dad started talking again since Ma died.. It really shows the emotion between Dad and Billie..
I think that the most important one was Met. Because they actually talked and made connections as they walked home. She said things that would make him a better father, they talked and i think its weird that her father starts talking and things like that. I think its because he now realizes that he hasn't been doing his job as a father.
Something Lost and Something Gained I think is very important because this helps her decide to go home and to not move on. She knows her dad is trying and she knows it's probably really tough for him not to have that shape next to him.
Yeah this was my second one if I did not do well on the one I had because she decides to get away from home but she knows that her dad is going through alot. @ @ U
POEM: Homeward Bound Getting away, it wasn't any better. Just different. And lonely. Lonelier than the wind. Emptier than the sky. More silent than the dust, piled in drifts between me and my father.
I think this poem is about how it was being lonely without somebody, and she wanted to be with her father.
I think the most important poem about this season is "Met" because dad and Billie Jo actually talk and she gets him to call Doctor Rice..it so cool how there communicating instead of Billie have to be miserable for the rest of her life...and Billie ran away just to get a rise out of her dad....wow.
I think met is most important because it talks about billie and her father walking and talking about what their going to do with the pond and how they are going to say together and the dad is going to call Doc Rice
In MY opinion the poem Met was the most important because it explained how she finally got to 'bond' her father, and talk. I think that her father realized what he had done wrong and now how he is going to fix it mostly because she ran away. The poem also showed that she finally realized that she doesn't like being alone and basically no one does.
The poem i chooses was most important was"Met" because in that poem Billie Jo and her father finally are getting along. In the poem Billie Jo and her father were walking and while they're were walking Billie Jo was forgiving him about what he did and mostly about everything and thats why i thought that poem was important.
I think that Homewoard bound was the most importent poem even if it is a short poem I think when she talkes about how she is alone and it is so bad that she ment to go to a place and not be alone but know she is alone with know one.
The poem that i think was most important was the Something Lost. Something Gained one. In that poem Billie met another runaway in the boxcar. She meets him and they take for a day about their families and why they ran away. Then when she fell asleep and woke up in the morning her biscuits were gone, but saw a picture of the guys family in her hat. I think this is important because it helps her realize how important family is.
I think that Something lost something gained was the most important chapter. I think so because this is when Billie Jo realized that she could not abandon her father like that. This chapter is about when the guy comes on to the train and talks to her. Then he steals her biscuits. This guy is why she decided to go home.
For me the most important one was met because..... After she ran away she sad that her father picked her up at the station and for the first time after her mom dies Billie Joe called her dad daddy. They decide to walk home. She tells her dad that she cant be her own mother or her own father. She told him shes worried about her dads spots on his neck so he said he'll go to doctor rice. Finally he says that the pond is finally finshed all he needs to do is fill it then theres going to be fish and they can even plant flowers if they like.
I think the most important part of Summer 1935 is the part where Billie Jo tries to ride a train to California. The dust actually got bad enough to the point where she ran away from home and left her father alone for a while. Even if I couldn't take the dust, I wouldn't have run away from home.
I think the most important poem in this season is "Something lost, Something gained, I think it is the most important because here Billy Jo met that man and he told her about his family and how he left because he couldn't take care of his farm, and then Billy Jo felt gulity that she left her dad.
The pome i think is most important was met, because Billie Jo and her father talk for the first time since there mom died, and they wallk home together, for the first time i think her father was happy to see her.
I think the most important poem was Met. I think this because ever since ma died and Billy Joe was pretty much blaming her dad for like a lot of things that had happened ever since he left the kerosene out on the counter. I think this poem is important because she is finally forgiving her dad for like killing her mother. The only thing i don’t get is what if she wasn’t burned, would she have died anyway because when she died she was having a baby, so would she have died because that or just there were burns all over her body?

Deleteyeah true
DeleteBut, she wouldn't have decided to come home if she would have never met the man on the train.
DeleteSomething Lost and Something Gained I think is very important because this helps her decide to go home and to not move on. She knows her dad is trying and she knows it's probably really tough for him not to have that shape next to him.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that part is pretty important. Thats where she decides not to leave.
Deleteyup because if she hadn't made that decision she would still be on the road

ReplyDeleteI agree with that one too because she finally tells him the truth.
DeleteYeah but if that guy would have never been there she wouldn't have gone back.
DeleteI think that is also important.

ReplyDeleteThat's very true. It expresses her sadness, and Karen Hesse did a good job of making it sad and lonely so we could feel sad too
DeleteTrue that poem shows how she feels being alone good job :)
DeleteThe poem that i think was most important was the Something Lost. Something Gained one. In that poem Billie met another runaway in the boxcar.
