  1. (Chapter 4,pg 88), my thought was that if poetry was their favorite thing to do I wonder how many people did poetry. My question is were there any most favorite one.

    1. Probably everyone who could. If they had a pen or pencil and paper and if they liked poetry i'm sure they would write all the time.

  2. Part of book: When Bowron said on live radio that Abraham Lincoln would deal harshly with the Japanese if he was alive.
My thought: I think that this is false because they don't know what he would do because he is dead. And if he fought his own country for the African Americans right I think he would do the same for the Japanese Americans.
Question: Who do you believe that Abraham would side for? With or against the Japanese Americans.

    2. That's a really good way to think about that topic, I thought of it the same way to. But I think that Abraham Lincoln would side with the Japanese Americans because like you said he stood up for African American slaves rights so why wouldn't he do the same for Japanese Americans.

  3. Part of Book: Chapter 3, When the book is talking about FDR signing the act that would put the Japanese Americans in the camps

My Thoughts: I thought it was wrong of FDR to value his political place, then to protect people's rights. A big part of the reason that he did send the Japanese Americans to the camps are that he didn't want to go against the majority of white citizens who wanted Japanese Americans in the camps. Is it really that important to get reelected that you have to overlook innocent citizens civil rights? I mean yes there were many pressures on FDR to put these people in the camps, but you should always do the right thing no matter who or who doesn't agree with you. So I believe that FDR should have thought more about Civil Rights, than going along with the majority beliefs.

Question: What do you think about this topic? Was FDR doing the right thing for valuing his political place, or was it wrong for him to overlook civil rights?

    1. I think he was doing a wrong thing to overlook the civil rights because some of the japanese were there for more than a few years and they probably didn't know anything about the bombing

    2. I think that he was wrong for putting them in the camps and ignoring their civil rights. He should respect their rights because they're as american in their heart as any of us. Even though they don't look like us we don't have to treat them differently.
