Mr.Reuth came in with some very bad news, some research have benn done and it said kids lose reading abilities when reading graphic novels so untill this is over no graphic novels for weeks. And plus we all like to read them and the state of Wisconsin says no,So i see great deppresion in the future,no graphic novels no happiness.Us kids think this is unfair we all love to read them and without them our world is incomplete
But the note said it’ll be handled by the authorities that is the real bad news
This is a diasaster for Teachers and Students

  2. On an early school morning in October, Bartels Middle School principal, Mr. Reuth, was notified by the state of Wisconsin to tell all english teachers in the building to dispose of all graphic novels, because it showed signs of loss of reading ability, according to certain tests. If teachers should fail to do so, it should be situated by proper authorities.
As you could imagine, both kids and teachers are pretty torn by this sudden action, but I would imagine that there will be some kind of protest in the near future.

  3. Who, was this homeless man leaning against a fence with all of his positions in many plastic and paper bags. What was this man’s story? Everyone has a story but what was this man’s? When did he become homeless, was it months, days, or years.
Why was the man homeless was he too weak to work or was nobody willing to hire him. Where was he in San Francisco was he in a rough part or in a good part of the city. How come no one was helping the elderly man leaning against a fence?

  5. First of all, there was a homeless man. He was on the streets of San Francisco. It was 2017 maybe spring. He is sitting there asking for money to help him. He wasn’t asking for much, he just needed enough to get him by. Then, you see the people just walk right by him, they don’t even bat an eye. That says a lot about people. It shows how self centered they are. It shows that don’t care about people in their community. They just want to keep all their money for themselves. Next, you see the people who walk past and pretend he's not even there.
Then, you see the people who take a little time out of their day and help them by giving them some coins or a dollar. You should see how thankful those people are when you help them. They at least tried to help. Imagine yourself in their shoes. Would you be, the self centered one or the one who tries to help?

  10. A while ago, in Sun Prairie. During a 8th Grade football game, many people were mad because of one reason. Bad calls.
There were many bad calls and missed calls at the game on Thursday. People, coaches and players were mad because they scored a touchdown that should have been called back because of a flag. And coaches were getting very mad because these missed calls were hurting their players.
One coach was so mad that he actually punched a tree in frustration. The ref is lucky it wasn’t him.
As you can see almost everyone on the Portage side was mad because of the refs. Maybe they should keep an eye on them next time.

  11. My best friend moved! Jocelyn moved to Chicago in the state of Illinois. She left on October, friday the 13th, 2017.

A lot of crying, a lot of happiness, and a lot of emotion. Jocelyn will be missed by teachers and fellow students. Therefore, we all know she will be happy in Illinois. However, every moment, every second, every day is a memory. She will not be forgotten by anyone!

She moved because her family is opening and helping a new business in Illinois, and they need help by Jocelyn’s dad. So her dad is helping out family in Illinois. Also another reason why she moved is because she has more family down there.

All in All, Jocelyn will be missed, she will not be forgotten by anyone. Everyone including I are excited for what the future holds for her. As our days go on more people are shattered, shattered like glass but the shatter is in our hearts. But we all know she will do great in her new school.

  12. On the streets of San Francisco 2017. Homeless people perform for money. Some of them play instruments. Others sing. Some even dance together. Sometimes people tip lots of money. Some people only give a dollar.

There are many homeless people in San Francisco. There were 6,686 of the homeless in 2015. The city of San Francisco is trying to build buildings to support the homeless.

  13. On a Saturday in 2017, clouds roam the skies as thunder crackle loud. A wicked storm was brewing all over the state of Wisconsin and it was going be the worst one of the year. The temperature was in the 90s in the city of Portage, than in the little town of Mattoon it was flooding tears of clouds.

But, wait! Sirens went off on the south side of Madison from a twister coming down. The twister wasn’t that all serious, but a lot of buildings were harmed and trees fell over knocking out power lines. The wind was horrified when the twister was happening and the heat was still unbelievable.

No one was badly harm or was killed, but this could've been much worse and everyone is thankful for not being harm. The people are getting help to bring back power and restore the neighborhood.

  14. So there was a group of guys a dad, and two brothers. The one brother was younger than the other one. They loved to hunt and fish. Well on a friday night last year, during bow hunting secon

They went out to kill a deer or two. Then they were in a good place in columbia county. Well the dad helped the little brother to get in a good place to sit, while the older one went to get in a good location too.

Then the younger brother herd some ruffle in the trees about 6:00pm. Then two doe stepped out, he drow back and went to blast it. Then it turned brond sid and he shot it and saw it rush away. The other one rushed away too. He put another arrow in his bow. Then in 5 minens later the second one came back and he blasted that one too.

After a span of time him and his dad went and found one, by then the other brother was there. The three of them found the secant one and gutted both of them. He was pretty excited. How about that, what if you were the young brother.

  15. Rocket Launch, in the middle of September, kids in 8th grade at Bartels Middle School built model rockets and shot them off into the air. They are launching these rockets on the football field behind the school. These kids are doing this in Science class for learning purposes, to learn distance and angles.
Some kids rockets flew up into the air, but some either blew up in mid air, or did not work at all. Probably because they were old rocket models from years ago. But most of the rockets shot up into the sky.

  17. `On September 16th, 2017, it was a chilly and cloudy day. 3 girls, Aspen, Hayli, and Brooke, were out having a great day on the lake. Brooke and Hayli were being pulled behind the boat on the tube while everyone around them was minding their own business. As they were going along, the driver spotted some big waves from another passers bys wake. The driver made a quick decision to go straight for these waves. As he did so he sent Brooke and Hayli into the monstrous waves which sent both girls soaring off the tube!
Once both girls resurfaced Austin (the driver) swung around and picked up both girls out of the water back onto the boat. After all girls were done dying of laughter Aspens dad asked “Do you girls want to go jump off the train bridge?” It was silent for a moment before all three girls smiled from ear to ear and responded with “Yes!!”
After about half an hour of a leisurely boat ride they finally neared the edge of the riverbed. The girls sat on the front of the boat as they prepared to jump into the freezing ice cold water and swim the rest of the way to shore. Once the girls reached land again Aspen showed them a small path for them to climb up that would get them too the top.
Once the girls were done scaling the small but steep path they walked onto the tracks and slowly worked their way, step by step, over the water. After walking out too the spot they were going to jump off, all three girls stood there nervously. They all looked at eachother and after a long pause of silence Aspen asked “So… who's going first?...” Both Hayli and Brooke look at each other and start to laugh nervously when they both looked over at Aspen which meant she was expected to go first…
After a couple minutes of playful arguments between the girls, Aspen finally stepped too the very edge of the train tracks, looked down, and froze. When asked how she felt at this moment she responded with “ The whole word froze. I feel like my heartbeat stopped at that exact minute too.” Eventually Aspen screamed “YOLO!!” and jumped off the bridge.

  19. Obesity In America
    Desrie Krey

Obesity comes with a lot of problems for the person but also the health care system. In America obesity is costing the US 190.2 billion in illnesses. Just childhood obesity alone is 14 billion is direct medical costs. Adults with a bmi of 30 or up are considered obese. When you are obese you have higher risks of getting medical problems like diabetes, heart attacks, strokes and cancer. More than one third of people in America are obese. We get addicted to food like we get addicted to drugs. Highly palatable foods trigger feel good chemicals in our brain, such as dopamine. Dopamine transmission in the brain's reward pathway from eating certain foods. Your body then quickly feels the need to eat again. In the foods we eat they usually contain large amounts of carbohydrates, added sugar and unhealthy fats and sodium. These foods are almost always high in calories. While offering little in the way of nutrients. Fast food puts a big toll in obesity by increasing the rates every year. Mcdonald's is visited by 90 percent of American children on a monthly basis. Instead of eating fruits and veggies they rather eat at Mcdonalds. Just one hamburger from Mcdonalds contains 10 grams of fat. Plus if you get the fries they contain 570 calories. Children and adults are becoming obese due to these selective foods. Acting like Caplets and the people eating the fattening foods as the Montego's. Fast food and people do not go good together.
