ReplyDeleteI agree, it was pretty sad. And then their boat sinks, that's just adding to the tragedies.
DeleteI agree, that was very sad because all they wanted to do was make a living by fishing and it was also sad because there boat went down in the water.
DeleteI agree, no person should have to go through that. When he said that fishing was a dangerous job I thought it was a joke, but after reading that part I understand just how dangerous fishing is.
DeleteI want to talk about the part where Mariano feels that his elbow has something wrong with it. During that game, the thing going through my head was "he better stop pitching, soon". And then when he heard something in his elbow pop, I cringed. What did you think?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I agree with you because I was thinking the same thing as you when I read that part of the book. I also thought that he should stop pitching, otherwise his arm would just get worse.
DeleteSame greg I cringed so bad when it pop because I could just imagine the pain he was in when it happen. I was also thinking how this could really mess up his carrier if it is something seroius.

DeleteI want to talk about the part in the book where Mariano gets made fun of at tryouts for the Yankees. I thought that people made fun of him because of his cloths, even though he could not afford better cloths because at the time he was poor. What did you think?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think it was pretty mean. And they probably knew that he was poor as well, knowing that he was coming from a very poor part of the world.
DeleteI think that he was really made fun of because of his appearance because he was not built like a pitcher. But once they saw him play he gained their respect.

DeleteI want to talk about the part where there was something wrong with mariano's elbow. As he was playing in the game he heared something in his elbow stap. In my head I was just thinking of the pain that he was in and how mad he was that this could have ruined his carrier.

DeleteI would like to talk about Mariano him climbing up all the spots from triple A to the Yankees. He went down from the yankees, TO triple A balla, and in the same week he got called in by the Yankees and know he plays for them full time. The first time he got called by the Yankees he was excited jumping on his bed with Dereck Jeter. On his seconed call all he thought about was What he needed to do to stay in the league, and he took it very seriosly.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree to that he took it very seriously. Also, yeah I remember to that he was thinking about how to stay in the MLB, rather than being excited about how he was going back to the MLB.
