What did you think if the ending? What do you want to talk about? It's your turn. Post your thoughts about any aspect of the book. Remember to explain what you're thinking in detail and then ask your question to the class. This blog will be graded using the blog post rubric that is linked to the right.
I really want to talk about what happens afterwords with Mr.Jamison and the boycot. I wonder if they continue the boycot and if Mr. Jamison stays with them or he pulls out because of whts happened. Also what about the things he did to stop the walaces and simms to keep them from the averys. Also will they find out that he is backing their credit.
ReplyDeleteDo you think that Mr. Jamison will be killed or back out?
I do not think he will not get hurt now that TJ is in jail or dead.
DeleteI think the best thing for him to do is back out before he is died, but I hope he still does it.
DeleteI think that Mr. Jamison will back out because most people, including the Logans, can't shop there and because everyone in the town is nice to each other now.
DeleteI'm not sure if the boycott will continue or if the wallaces will be tried in court because they were caught at the Avery's and they should be brought to justice, so I think the logans will get the store
DeleteI don't think he will back out but I do think the KKK will find out about Mr. Jamison signing for the credit.
DeleteI don't think he will back out but I think somebody will find out and then cause problems
DeleteI don't think Mr. Jamison will back out. I also don't think he will be killed. I think that Mr. Jamison will see that T.J. is given a fair trial.
DeleteI think that T.J. is going to die in jail because of his injuries and because he is colored. I also think that Papa's injuries might cause him to die as well. What do you think is going to Papa and T.J.?
ReplyDeleteI think T.J will most likely be killed but if papa stays under the radar he probably wont
DeleteI think that TJ will die but I think that papa will not because he help but if he try to do something that they do not like he may.
DeleteThey aren't going to die of their injuries. Papa is already stable, and they said T.J. would be fine. The real question is will T.J. get a fair trial, and if not, will he be put to death?
DeleteThe ending was really good. I like how it ended on a really big event. The fire was one of the most interesting events in the book. I want to talk about TJ. A lot of people said that they think TJ is dead. We kept reading and a lot of people changed their opinion. There are still some people that think he is dead. What does everybody else think?
ReplyDeleteI think he will be killed
DeleteI think in the end he was better but it was really sad
DeleteI think he will die for robbing the place.
DeleteHe isn't dead yet, but if he doesn't get a fair trial, he could be put to death.
DeleteI like the ending but they should have said if TJ died or not. I think he did and did the simmons boys got in trouble. What do you think about it did TJ going to die and is the simmons going to get in trouble.
ReplyDeleteI think t.j will but not the simms
DeleteI think TJ is going to die and I don't think anyone found out that it was RW and Melvin.
DeleteI don't think TJ died because they said he had a few broken ribs and a broken jaw but they never said he died. The Simmons boys do not get in trouble because they made up a story. Also they are white so they would not put a white person in jail for beating up a african american.
DeleteI think that TJ will die and that simmons will not get in trouble.
DeleteI think T.j will get in trouble but not the simms because nobody saw them do anything wrong even when they did.
DeleteHunter b. The simms will get off free i think
DeleteI do not like the ending not one bit. I don't like that T.J. is going to die!!!!!!! On the other hand I never did like him. What do you think about T.J.
ReplyDeleteIf you didn't like him why don't you want him to die? But I think he will die.
DeleteI think he will die and I think he should get what he needs because they do not like him.
DeleteI think that T.J. was a terrible friend and he deserved going to jail, but he does not deserve to get beat up by people like he did.
DeleteI think t.j. was bad in the book, but i know he would come back and be nice if he would survive
Deletei just hope he doesnt die
DeleteI thought it was a good and bad ending because TJ went to jail and that was but the book wasn't really finished she should have gave it a real ending. I would like to talk about the ending and how the the ending was not really that good. What did you think about the ending.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was okay but could have been better
DeleteI like the ending. But it would be better if they told what happened to TJ
DeleteI thought she could've given more detail on the relationships between the towns folks and what really is going to happen to T.J.
DeleteI didn't like the ending I thought it could have been more drastic. I thought this book overall was written well, though I think mildred shouldn't have killed t.j. because he was essential to the plot and would have added so much if he would have survived, I also think that if t.j. survived it would have made the next book more interesting. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI do also maybe he could break out of jail or something
DeleteI think he will die and that the next book will be about what happen in the trail.
DeleteI wanted to talk about how Papa was smart enough to light the crops on fire and so the NightMen would stop hurting TJ and so no one would come after them since they didn't know who did it. What did you guys think?
ReplyDeleteI think that most people will find out, but I think that they will still treat each other like they are still going to treat each other well.
Deletewell the fire was on their own crops but that will either make them think they did it or didnt
DeleteI think it was smart of him but it was a little dangerous
DeleteI think it was a good idea but what if somebody finds out that he did that so the night-men would stop hurting the Avery's.
DeleteI think that it was a good idea that he did that and that if he did not so one would have died.

ReplyDeleteI think the ending was okay, it could have explain more about what happened to everybody but the author probably wants readers to read her other books.I want to talk about how stacey,cassie,Christopher-john,and little man all become friends with T.j but then T.j becomes mean and the logan's don't want to be friends with him so they don't hang out with him. Then T.j finds other friends but then they turn on him and he comes back to the logan's for help even when he has been mean to them. Do you think it was right for all the logan siblings to help him or no?
ReplyDeleteI do think it was right
DeleteYes because they know that hes not the brightest kid in the world so they help him out. (Well that's at least what I think.)
DeleteIn hindsight I think it was right because the nightmen would have come to the logans looking for tj, which would have made a bunch of trouble
DeleteI think it sould not because he was mean to them.
Deletemy thoughts on the ending are that i thought that pa pa was going to walk up in front of the night men and just shot everyone but it riley suprised me when he set fire to his own crops i mean it was smart thing to do but also those are youre crops and there cotten makes them money$$$$$$$$$$
ReplyDeleteand i also thought that papa would of died and there luck ie that they had a lot of people to help them fight the fire becuse if they did´nt that would of been baaaaaad and then if i was pa pa i probiley would´nt of set the cotten on fire i would of found a nother way with out violance and that is all i have to say
and a question i have is what will actually happen to t.j and just so everyone knows hes dead
DeleteI think that it was a good idea that Papa lit the forest on fire because, then Papa, Mr.M and Stacey didn't get hurt. I also think at the same time he shouldn't have because, the lost a fourth of the land and they could have lost the whole field of cotton. I wonder what would have happened then? what would they live on? How could they live? would they just live off the garden? Or would they have to get a lone from someone? Would they have to wait till next fall to plant new crops or try planting them again right them? Who would help them? would uncle hammer come back to help them? Or sell more of his things to get more money? Do they have to pay any more for the land? Is the land theirs for ever? I also think that it is rediculous that R.W. and Melvin went and went behind there TJs back!! I think that T.J will get out of jail and be able to live the rest of his life. what do you guys think will happen to T.J? do you think that tj will live and will not be killed or accused that he was the only one that stole it. I also liked how Mama and Big Ma reacted towards the fire. How they were calm and worked quickly instead of not working at all. I am glad that the fire did not spread to more of the cotton. What do you guys think? What would have happened if it spread into the woods? would mr.granger lose almost all of his land or would it be okay?
ReplyDeleteI think he would not have lost all his land because it started on the longans.
DeleteI think he won't lose all his land.
DeleteBut Nick it was heading to the grandger land so then it would have burnt it all down

ReplyDeletehe is not dead yet!
ReplyDeleteI thought that the ending was ok they could have explaned more what happend to people but i want to know if you think tj will die in jail and if not what do you think will happen to tj do you think the simms would kill him if he gets out?
ReplyDeleteI think he probably would have lost his land, but he might buy it back or fix it etc.
ReplyDeleteI think that if the woods caught on fire it would spread as far as strawberry like mama said, and it would destroy mr granger's land
ReplyDeleteI thought that the ending was really good. I want to know if T.J. will be killed in jail because of what he did. I thought that it was weird how Cassie and Little Man got back to the house without Mama or Big Ma seeing them. I want to talk about the fire. I thought that it was a good idea how Papa started the fire to draw everyone's attention. It also took a lot of risk because they lost a lot of cotton and the cotton helps them pay for taxes. Also, Papa's leg still hurts so he can't go work for the railroad yet for a while. Papa also knew how much Mr. Granger wanted that land and he wouldn't want it to be burned or ruined. He started the fire perfect timing to because they were really close to getting away with killing T.J. I also think that a lot more people care about the land or they just didn't want people to get hurt in Strawberry. I don't like how they didn't believe what T.J. said about him and the two Simms brothers with him. I wonder what it would've been like if they knew that R.W and Melvin did help him take the gun and got in trouble. I think that T.J. might not make it because of the time and how black people were treated. I understand that T.J. is fourteen years old, but people there aren't nice to black people and they also don't believe them. I wonder what the book would be like if more people were like Mr. Jamison?
ReplyDeletethe end
ReplyDeleteI didn't really like the book, but the ending was great. I liked how it gave clues that led to the conclusion that papa started the fire. One thing I didn't like was that the ending felt complete, I like it when there is a cliffhanger at the end that really gives you something to think about. I wish they would have left out the part that papa started the fire, so you could try to figure it out for yourself. What do you guys think, should they have told us papa started the fire?
