His parent's don't LOVE him?!?!? That is just crazy weird. I don't know if I'd want to live in a society that doesn't understand love. I guess it's not totally his parents' fault because they have no idea what love is, but still I'm sooooo mad at his mom for not saying she loved him. What did you guys think?

DeleteI think that Jonahs is starting to love. I also think he is starting to love Gabe and the Giver. I know though that if Gabe keeps getting the memories that he will never be able to sleep without them. I have very large sympathey for Jonas, it mustbe very hard to do what he is doing. What do you think?

DeleteThe mom and dad said that love is not a real thing in a way. It would be so bad if there were no animals, no feels and what is next no house. They said that love was a inappropriate.

DeleteThey might be afraid that if they all have love then they will get to pick their spouse, and the community of elders might be scared that they will pick a person that they think isn't perfect for the person.

DeleteWhy would they take away love? Love is like the most important feeling in our world. And if Jonas keeps on giving memories to Gabe he might also fail and what would they do with Gabe would they release him or make him the new receiver when he is ready? I am eager to read the next chapter, but then I'm afraid that the stirrings will come back and it will end up being weird. I think that the Giver gave him his favorite memory because he wanted Jonas to know what love is, and the Giver said that he had many more memories that involve family, love, and celebrating holidays. I also think that the holiday was Christmas because of the lights, and presents. Also the Giver might have another memory that is about the same holiday and all, but with another family and house.
