In the United States, about 50 million students are registered in preschool through 12th grade. Another 15 million students go to colleges and universities across the country. While most U.S. schools are safe, any amount of violence is unacceptable. Acts of violence can disrupt the learning process and have a negative effect on students, schools, and the whole community. So to keep students in school safe districts should improve the social environment of schools there are many ways that could work to improve the school’s social environment. The social environment of a school is the happiness of all the children, staff, and parents. It is the things you can do to make schools a happy and safe place. Some things you could do are very simple like prominently displaying student's artwork or keeping the place clean. To make schools safe, you could also have more natural surveillance by having windows around all entrances. Well lit areas can also increase the school's happiness level. Why do you think this will work? The reasons why we should increase the social environment of schools is clear. It makes School a happy place for everyone. All the bright, clean, open areas are sure to crack a smile. And when people are tired and grumpy going to school, they would walk in with a fresh and warm welcome to brighten early mornings. So it is simple, that is why it can work work. This strategy has been used in many schools. It is true, this idea has spread through lots of schools. For instance the schools have fun activities that increase the students happiness. One of the schools, Reynolds Middle School, has an assembly about friendship every month. They play games that create new friendships. And every day at Weiner Elementary School, they start with a dance party. And lay’s Elementary celebrates birthdays by crowning them student of the day. Some experts say that schools should have more police present, more security guards, metal detectors, and door buzzers. The one problem with that though is that it may make the students feel a bit uncomfortable an confined. Parents say that they want the school to not be like a prison. This is why making the social environment better, might be the better choice. So most of these ideas are small, but they can work in big ways. Happiness is the most important thing to have at school. Students can get more work done when there is nothing to worry about. So improving the social environment is the best choice to protect against School violence, and it can certainly put that frown upside down.

Being a student in 2018 is kinda terrifying. You hear that there is about 1 shootings a week and you never know what school could be next. Anyone could be the next target for a shooter. That’s why schools will become much safer when the staff and employees are armed. To start off, school should be a place where kids can come and feel safe, but with all the school shootings some kids don’t feel safe anymore. According to New York Times “Many people remain unaware that schools in a dozen states … have already taken advantage of the states laws that allows schools employee to carry weapons.” So if teachers were armed it would not only make the terrified children feel more safe, but it would also make the school more safe and extremely prepared if there was a intruder. Secondly, a lot of the school shootings happen in gun free zones. The percentage is 98%. Since most of the schools are gun free schools that means that shooters know that there is no danger if they got into the school. If we were to arm the teachers that enormous percentage would go down. There are 18 states that already allow armed teachers. Although there are many other things that would make schools safer but arming teacher should be the first thing they do because, it makes students more safe. It also makes the teachers the students protectors. President Trump defended arming teachers, he said “School shootings last about three minutes and that giving firearms to teachers and coaches would allow action before police arrive.” It is also said that the massacre at Sandy Hook elementary school in December 2012 was the tipping point of these shootings. Fifty to one hundred school are now armed. There was a meaningful proposal made about arming teachers. It said “Trump isn’t proposing arming all the nation’s teachers, just ones who are already gun adept and willing to carry a concealed weapon on campus.” If teachers were armed it would not only prevent shootings but make schools safer. Next, there is already a school that has armed their teachers to make every student safe. In the state of Ohio there are many schools that have already armed their teachers, hoping other schools would follow and arm their teachers also. In Sydney, Ohio they spent over $200,000 on weapons to arm the teachers. There is a three day training camp that over 20 brave men and women attend to get them ready to keep and use a concealed weapon if needed. People met with over a dozen interested teachers, administrators, secretaries, custodians, bus drivers, and school nurses willing to carry a concealed weapon. To carry a weapon is not a necessity but it is allowed. Ohio has many schools that have jumped into action by arming their teachers, and by doing that their school is more safe. So why do we give it a try and see what happens. Finally, i’m not saying that all teachers should be armed, but only the ones that are willing to carry and concealed a weapon. Think about this, you are sitting up against with the rest of your class and the principal comes over the loudspeaker and says there is a intruder. Everyone is hoping that the intruder doesn’t come and try to force themself into the classroom. The frightened students are hoping the teacher knows what to do and can protect everyone, but how can they do that if they don’t have anything to protect the students with? If the schools were to arm the teachers they would be prepared and ready to protect the lives of every student. Arming teachers will making every school much safer from any intruder.
February 14, 2018. Student Nikolas Cruz opens fire at a Florida high school with an assault rifle in the school hallways after pulling the fire alarm. 17 people were left dead, many others injured. What can be done to stop this from happening in the future? My overall idea is that all schools should have at least two security guards on duty at the same time, depending on the school size/number of students. They should be armed with pistols at all times as well, to ensure safety. Different people from all over have an opinion on it, but here are just a few: “It’s like a watchdog,” says student Stephanie Ottosen, “...it keeps bad people away”. In a beauty salon interview, a reporter asked a mother of three children that are in school if having a security guard in their school would make her know that her kids are safer. “Oh, absolutely. Armed security guards increase safety. That’s why politicians, celebrities, concerts, etc., all have guards on duty - to keep people safe”. There’s also proof that this idea has been put into use and it worked out tremendously. When a 14 year old student opened fire at an Atlanta middle school, a courageous officer was on duty and was quickly able to get to the student, take the gun away, and stop the shooting. Reports say that the student with the gun came to school through the regular front entrance, where there were also metal detectors. But, unfortunately, the metal detectors failed to detect the gun that was being carried. All in all, I clearly think that schools should have security guards to keep the building safe. Even though there are many other ideas that could work, having security guards in schools is the best choice to go with, because they are well trained, hard-nosed professionals that care about the youth’s safety - who wouldn’t trust that?

There for student talk to them and the windfall police officer in the building student like to go to school more. This is how it might work. How the police officer will help by stopping student crim. The police officer going to school can help the beautiful community too. With the offices being there can help student make good worshipful decisions over a lifetime. With the officers there they can adverse issues better. In other place this is how it work for them. That boling has redust. The buffalo student have less stress and they learn better. The student like to go to school more and don't miss school that much. Putting a police officer in each school will keep student more safe in schools. So putting a police officer in each school will help kids in many way not just keeping them safe. There are many way to keep school a safer place but this is the way we should do first because have the police officer there that he can be there at anytime.

We as a country need to find a solution fast to this growing problem. Children’s Innocent lives are being taken by the school shooters. This is why I’m proposing that all schools should have at least one security guard on duty at all times. You would most likely want to know what the tasks of these security guards would be. A main task which would be patrolling the school, watching the doors, and operating the security devices. But there are the underlying things that the officers could do like take notes on students that may show symptoms of mental problems. The guards could report the parents of the kids. Then the child would have the opportunity to get help that they need inside or outside the school. Well, another obvious benefit would be if there was a shooting in a school the guards could help by stopping the shooter or suppressing the effects. If a school was also to choose to check bags the guards would be able to perform that small task. Another proposal that the guards could do would stop and/or prevent bullying. Bullying would become less of a prominent issue in schools because the busy teachers sometimes don’t see it, but the guards would. In time I hope some changes will start happening. Overall I feel that students would be much safer if guards were present. The evidence is here so why are we still waiting around. We know the drastic numbers of the shootings and I’m not just saying that this would solve everything. Although I think it would be a good start to keeping schools safe.

To keep schools safe there should be mental health test in all schools. According to the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, one in five kids experiences a mental health problem. They will most likely experience some mental health problems throughout all of the school years. Some of the mental health issues are stress, anxiety, depression, and bullying can cause most of them. Some of the worst mental health issues are self-harm, suicide, a drinking problem and more. This behavior has Rosen mostly among the youth community. Sadly, estimations of up to 60% of students do not get the treatment they need. Of the ones that get help, nearly two-thirds do so only in schools. Research has shown that students are more likely to seek counseling when services are available in schools. In some cases, such as rural areas, schools provide the only mental health services in their community. I think that mental health test in school will help because they could talk and get help. So then they would start to get better and nothing bad would really happen then. Mental health is not a joke if you need help get some help because we love everyone and want them safe

I believe that arming teachers will help keep kids safer and help solve this problem. “History shows that a school shooting lasts, on average, 3 minutes. It takes police and first responders approximately 5 to 8 minutes to get to site of crime. Highly trained, gun adept, teachers/coaches would solve the problem instantly, before police arrive.” This is a quote from our current President Donald Trump. I believe that teachers should be armed in order to help better protect their students and our schools. Now i'm not saying we need to arm all staff members that are apart of the building, because that could be pretty overwhelming too some people, but a gun could be kept in a safe, in an easily accessible area that only teachers would know the code to. Like in Sydney, Ohio teachers keep a gun hidden in their break room, that is only accessible to teachers. They also have a few safes, holding more guns, and bullet proof vests hidden in closets around their school. If teachers were armed at schools there would be multiple benefits. Arming teachers can help staff stop or even solve a threatening situation, like an attempted shooting. Also if we had guns in school it may make kids think twice if they were too ever have thoughts about harming their other classmates, because they could get hurt themselves in the process by the staff. All in all, arming teachers could better protect their students, stop an attempted shooting, and even make kids think twice about ever harming another classmate knowing that they could just as easily get injured or killed by one of the staff members. Arming teachers will keep students safer at school.
According to CNN news, were only a couple months into the year 2018. We have already 20 school shootings where someone was hurt or killed. That averages out to 1.25 shootings a week. What U.S Rep. Kay Granger is saying is that metal detectors will reduce the numbers of school shootings.
What is a metal detector? It is a 24/7 system that works when people have metal. All firearms have metal on it. When you walk right by the metal detector it will beep and you will get caught. To point out, there will be a trustful officer by each metal detector so they can catch you. What is important to realize, is there will be metal detectors by every doorway. So nobody would avoid it. They would be force to go through. For a metal detector, it is $3500 dollars. People are very anxious to get one. But again it is expensive for only one. But shooters are extremely violent and we want to protect our schools and kids. By all means, would you rather have safety in your school or no safety. Money Vs. Safety . To Conclude, this is how a metal detector works.
Why would metal detectors work? First on why metal detectors would work is because whenever you go through a metal detector it will beep if you have metal on you. So you would get caught right away. Secondly, It will stop people bringing in firearms. They already know what a metal detector is. Why would they take the risk? Thirdly, you can catch someone easier. To explain, the enraged shooter can just walk right into a school and shoot everyone. We don’t want to see that. Then you will see these terrified kids. Nobody can do anything. In meanwhile, metal detectors stop people from walking in with a weapon. So we can assume a peaceful school. Then nobody is hurt. Lastly, trusted officers would be right by the metal detectors. For extra assistance. So it could probably scare away the shooter. In this case, no shooter wants to deal with metal detectors and especially an officer. To conclude, this is how metal detectors will reduce the risk of people’s lives.
How are metal detectors worked elsewhere? Fort Worth Schools have put up metal detectors at every doorway. Fort Worth Schools doesn't want a shooting. Most schools want to put up a metal detector so they don’t have to go through a shooting. Researchers/ reporters interviewed parents about school safety. Most frustrated parents said they would rather have their kids feel like there in prison than them being dead. Specifically, only 81 out of 1000 schools have metal detectors. We need more! Most schools that don’t have metal detectors or some kind of safety have school shootings. Therefore, people interviewed students if they should have metal detectors. As a result, out of 1600 people 60 % of them say they want metal detectors. These gastly kids want to be safe. When kids go to school we want to see them optimistic and cheerful here. Not alarmed.
Although, there may be other ideas to help school shootings. I think metal detectors would be the best choice. Metal detectors would reduce the risk of lives. How Can you help your school from a school shooting? Overall, metal detectors will help out schools to be safe.

Because there will be more supervision on children and more security. The officers main job is to keep everyone safe, they will watch who comes into the school and there would be at least one officer in each school. Next for the stats, even 78% of people say yes to having armed security officers in schools. Together with that ABC News says that armed security officers in schools are multiplying, so people are realizing this is a stupendous idea and are confident with it. Schools in Hartford, Connecticut have added security officers and more police authority around, as a result of this was less violence. This also isn't the first we've thought of this solution, in the 1990’s it was also considered one of the solutions to a mass school shooting. Finally, April 12, 2018, the news article ‘ Va. county pushes for retired officers as armed security in schools ‘ by Matt Gregory, Phil Kauits from Prince William County School announces “ These people are trained already, they understand the needs they have the firearm safety training and all the protocols that goes with that.”. Additionally, in a different article ‘ Armed Security Officers in schools are increasing: Report’ by Erin Doodly, the National Association of the School Resource Officers Executive Director, Mo Canady tells ABC News “Sworn, certified law enforcement officers are a tremendous benefit in schools.” and “it’s gotta be the right officer, and they've got to be properly trained” It's obvious that putting an armed officer is the safe and effective way to go. Armed officers are multiplying in schools, they know the protocols and have firearm safety. While it could be suggested that safety officers are not effective because of a recent incident, but these officers would be specifically trained and prepared for these certain situations. They will help keep the children safe from harm, and pernicious violence. All districts must have full time armed officers to keep everyone, especially the children safe.
There are many reasons why schools should be updated so that students are safe from school shooters. This is one of the reasons why schools should change school security gates on classroom doors, make special alarm for shootings, and should get rid of dry wall and then replace it with brick or other bullet resistant wall. School shooting cause many deaths of kids that leave their parents hopeless so the schools should change the infrastructure so that the students can stay safe during a school shooting. So their will be less hopeless parents Schools should put security gates in every classroom so dangerous shooters can't get in to a classroom full of innocent students and teachers. The ways that security gates works is that they drape down it drapes a metal curtain over the door that attaches to a strong metal bar so dangerous people can't get in. According to www.overheaddoor.com, the Upward Coiling Security Grilles 674 comes with a with an optional electric operator so teachers don't have to go to the door and possibly get shot when shutting it manually. So, Schools should also get rid of all drywall and replace it with bullet proof walls. According to www.tssbulletproof.com, inch-thick acrylic windows or otherwise known as bullet resistant windows, aren't effective without bullet resistant walls. Schools can make the walls bullet resistant by asking construction workers to build bullet proof walls by framing a standard stud wall. After doing this, they would put bullet resistant fiberglass panels on the studs. The resulting bullet proof wall can be finished just like any conventional wall it can be painted and wallpapered. It will be able to stop bullets as well and will act as a bunker, but any person who looks at the wall won’t be able to tell the difference between the bullet-proof one and a standard wall. So, the a school shooter won’t be able to shoot randomly through walls and hit innocent students in a spray of random bullets. School districts should be changed by making special alarms, adding security gates and getting rid of dry walls and putting in bullet proof walls. This will help students feel safe at school. Overall, this will help students across the country.
Improving school safety is the most effective way to keep innocent student safe. Keeping better track of people who enter the school, and asking people who want to enter the building why they want to enter are important. Just those two things alone could prevent a tragedy. Taking more precautions every time someone enters the building will keep innocent students out of harms way. Taking precautions every time someone enters the building is the perfect way to make schools safer, and keep students safe at school. One of the issues is when someone enters the school building they enter into the hallway instead of entering directly into the office. However, before anyone can even have a chance to enter the building they have to buzz in, but before they are allowed to enter the building they should be asked for a reason on why they want to enter the building. Mornings can be a problem in schools as well. It is a problem that could be easily fixed by having everyone enter through the same set of doors. Cameras are the biggest part of keeping schools safe. Having a camera at every entrance/exit can create a safer building all around. Making simple changes or adding small things can make a huge difference...if it would ever come down to it. These small changes can help in many different ways. Having a door leading directly into the office will help enforce the rule of people signing in before entering the hallways. Before anyone can enter the building they should state a purpose for wanting to enter. Requiring someone to state their purpose before entering the school can give the office staff a little information, or an idea on why they want to enter. Although, everything that goes on during the school day is important; mornings can be one of the hardest times to keep track of what is going on. When everyone enters through the same door in the mornings it will be easier to increase supervision and/or security. With all the hustle and bustle of students coming in and going different places in the morning it can be hard to keep track of who enters; especially if they are entering through more than one entrance. Cameras could be one tool that can make that easier. Cameras being placed at entrances/exits can make it easier to keep track of who enters the building and when. Ensuring things are done correctly and safely is definitely important and can help provide a safer environment for students and teaching staff. All of these different ways to help keep schools safer are in place at Cadillac Area Public Schools(Caps). According to Superintendent Jennifer Brown in an article by Alexander Sinn, Brown says, “We’re always evaluating our safety protocols for our kids through conversations with staff...We felt there was room for improvement…” At CAPS the main entrance during school hours leads directly into the office. Before anyone is allowed to enter the school they require a purpose to be stated before entering. This rule is enforced at their High School, Middle School, and Elementary school. Previously at CAPS’ middle school the, “students were allowed to enter through the auditorium doors but will now be required to enter through the main entrance.” Without these things in place Cadillac Area Public schools would not be as safe as they are with all of these things in place. Maybe these are the key things that could prevent any school from being in the crosshairs. At school a students safety means just as much as an education.Students will be safer when entrances/exits are always being monitored. Even having something simple, like a door that leads directly into the office, can make a huge difference. Improving entrance security could be the one change that stops a tragic disaster.
Improving school safety is one of the most popular trends right now. When it comes to keeping your kids safe you would do whatever it takes. But one place you have no control of is school. As you know there are a lot of school shootings happening ,where a bunch of children are dying. But how could we prevent this?
First let’s start with the office, all schools should use a visitor management system so they can keep track of who is entering and leaving the school. Also make sure the secretarys sitting in the office have a panic button attached to the desk so they can click it and it automatically calls 911 if someone is threatening the school or is in the building doing harm.
Now let’s talk about doors and security, more into detail doors,cameras , and card I.D. Have doors where you can only open and enter when you either knock and someone from the inside opens it or use your Card I.d to unlock the door. Now to the cameras, using better cameras with microphones would help out so much with what’s going on. Also like who is a bully or who is going to start trouble. It would help out a lot if students knew that we are trying to decrease bullying and increase less harm in schools.
Everyone should feel safe at school, so let’s think about adding new things to keep our schools safe around the world. Let’s keep our kids from being bullied or becoming bullies. Over all let's just stop the violence in general.

First of all what even is having a armed officer in school at all times? Well it's where there has to be a trained and armed officer, that is brave enough to risk his/her own life to save other people's lives. Also that he/she has to help no matter what and has to be trusted as well. He/she has to be a dependable officer that the school nows will help no matter what.
Secondly, we know it will work. Because a lot of other schools have requested this several times such as the Long Island schools. Also it makes the kids feel safer/more confident, because they realize that there is a trained professional that will protect them no matter what cost. Even the Wisconsin Governor says he will will pay 100 mil for more security/hiring officers many school and many districts. It also helps gain trust through the whole community. According to, SpringField schools they said that they also suggested this several more times, because it actually works! Overall, it just prevents crimes in the school , because the officer will most likely catch anyone that is doing bad stuff.
It worked in many other places as well. Such as the school shooting in Maryland when a officer saved the whole school by risking his own life by responding to the shooter in less than a minute. Which made fewer people get hurt. There was one casualty the shooter later died because of his actions that day. This tactic has worked in many other places as well , so why not use it in all schools. Although it could be argued that school officers don't help it clearly helped, because like I said before in Mississippi that officer save many deaths. All in all, it worked in many other places as well.
Overall, having an officer at all times in any school proves to save people from getting injured. Such as when the officer saved a school shooting form happening in Mississippi. Also, many other occasions have been saved by having a patrol officer at their school.
You may be suprised to know that there have been 239 school shootings in America since 2014, which have taken 138 lives, according to the New York Times Analysis of Gun Violence Archive. There are many people who believe most, if not all of these deaths could have been prevented. When a school shooting occurs, who are the first people called? The police are the first people to respond to these emergencis. If the people who protect us in our everday lives are called right away, it doesn’t seem to make any sense why we don’t have them right there in the school to protect our children. To address the violent acts in schools, we need the people who keep our community safe, put into our schools. The police could do this. School police officers have the critical responsibility of keeping students safe during school hours. It is intended to not only prevent hostile mass shootings, but to prevent the unintended consequences like suspensions and expulsions. They are able to take immediate action when the safety of the students is at risk much quicker than in the traditional schools. In fact the idea of police officers in schools can decrease the likelihood of mass shootings. To some it might sound extreme, but can we really over protect our children? In past school shootings there was never a cop present in the school during the shooting. According to the Washington Post we currently have more than 43,000 school resource officers and an additional 39,000 security guards in the nation’s 84,000 public schools. This points towards the fact that we have the resources available for our schools in this country. Their focus is to keep kids safe, but also to create an environment where students feel safe. Many school police officers help students in other ways that include identifying bullies in the classroom and online. In addition, they prevent violence between students within the schools because they are well respected. Although it could be argued that having police officers in schools is not effective, but you can’t deny the fact that the first people called in a active shooting situation is the police. The schools with police officers have been successful with the safety of the students. The principle of the Chicago Sullivan High School says, “The officers provide a higher level of security for the school and much more”. The majority of students respect the police and know they want to protect them meaning they will most likely be better behaved and more careful with their actions. Another example of how school police officers have worked it is in Auburn, AL. A man in camouflage was spotted carrying a gun on the school campus. The school police officer took immediate action and scanned the area until it was safe for everyone to emerge from the lockdown. If there wasn’t a police officer currently at the school at the time, a shooting could of erupted. In this case, the police officer’s presence was effective in preventing a dangerous situation from becoming far worse. Police officers provide a higher security to ensure kids are safe in schools. To create safe schools in America we have to make sure we have police officers in schools. With police officers in schools a shooter knows he cannot get passed them to harm innocent kids. Our children are our future and they deserve to feel safe and protected while in school. We can ensure this by putting police officers in schools.

Having better security in schools is a cheaper way to help keep students in america safe.
Better Security will result in less tragic outcomes in emergency situations. Schools across America are taking action to make learning a safer place. To do this, some reliable changes need to be done. Some ideas are metal detectors, trained and armed security guards and teaching students and staff how to better protect themselves. These ideas have been very popular in protecting schools by having better security.
Reliable and proven to work security will help schools across the U.S. Teaching students and staff will help by making them more confident, less worried and less scared. When student know how to protect themselves in dangerous situations, they have a better chance on not getting hurt. Armed and trained security guards at every school will lower the chance of Violence and school shootings. Trained guards will protect our schools and make schools five times safer. Finally, metal detectors purpose is to detect unsafe and unwanted items in public places. Having metal detectors in schools will not only detect harmful items but also it would lower the chance of the person reaching students and staff and everyone would be able to act more quickly. Having helpful and reliable security will keep schools safe.

Now, before I start, I know that not all teachers are willing to hold a “ghastly” gun. But I never said every teacher has to be armed. There could be only one or two if that’s what the school decides to do. And the teachers don’t even have to have them with them at all times, it could be in a classroom gun safe. That’s what a school in Riverside, Ohio did. In total, they installed thirty two gun safes around the school. In those safes, are semi-automatic pistols with a removable loaded magazine. Specially chosen teachers can access these dependable safes anytime if in danger. These teachers are chosen by the community district and they pledge to protect the attending students at any cost. Arming teachers will work because the lethal shooters won’t be so reckless anymore. When one certain person is watching over the camera more things will be noticed. On the behalf of bullet proof windows, if a person came into the school trying to shoot inside the school the bullet proof windows will prevent innocent kids and teachers from getting hurt. It will be difficult adding more security to the building but however it will make parents, teachers, and students less nervous. Why is adding security important? Also, adding bullet proof windows would just be better for the school and people of the school in general. Although, adding security could be a problem for some schools it would be beneficial for everyone. All students should be able to go to school and feel safe. School shootings are very serious things. First, let's take a look at the facts. Also it only takes 30 seconds for the class to get into the shelter and get to safety. that’s about the same amount of time it would take for a class to do their regular routine of getting to a safer part of there class lock their door and turn off the lights, but with the shelters there’s an extra level of assurance that your child will be protected.
Secondly, these shelters would be the best choice over almost all other ideas. This idea would be better than school’s having extra cameras or teachers carrying handguns, there’s just too many possibilities of things that could go wrong with those ideas. With these shelters you cut out all possibilities of chance. These shelters would also be able to be used in more than just a school school these shelters could also be used in the event of a tornado. These shelters are also very cost effective, but then again would you really put a price on your children's safety.
Clearly these shelters being put in all classrooms are the only way to stop a school shooting. These shelters could one day be the only thing standing that could stop a bullet from harming your child.

The idea of getting more councelors in school is to help keep students safe. It might cost a lot but there are many benifits. For example students will learn to have more trust. Getting more councelors means not as many students per councelor. This helps students realize that there is some one they can go to no matter what. This idea works because it will not only help build more trust, it will also build better relationships with students and adults. Student will get the help they need. The American School Councelor Association’s (ASCA) recommends 250 students per councelor. Further more they give students a sense of belonging. If students are more close with adults they will be able to tell the things they would not tell anyone else. For example if their friend said something about violence, that student could warn the councelor. In the end more councelors would result in better relationships, which leads to more trust. That’s how students will get the help they need. The government needs to bring in more councelors to keep students in school safe.

We could put metal detectors in all schools. They'll stop random students or staff from bringing weapons to school, because the detectors will detect the metal on weapons. If every student and teacher has to pass through them, it will cut weapon violence in all schools. Metal detectors cost a lot of money, close to $3000 - $5000, but it will help a lot.
The schools could start hiring police officers, and security guards, not only could they prevent from a shooter but they could break up fights, drug deals, shootings, and other threats. They should have full training so they know what to do and when to do it. When the metal detectors break down or have a malfunction there's someone to help right then and there. Also if u have an armed, fully trained guard they can stop all these things that are making schools unsafe stop.
Get more counselors, the more the better. Most people who bring the gun to shoot the school up probably needs some more mental help then anything. That why we need them because if a student or teacher feels the need to hurt a whole bunch of people, then that person should go see someone to talk to. If you think when there's violence there has to be a person who planned it so that person would have to think they need to hurt someone to feel better, when really they can talk to someone about it.
You always think it's not going to happen to you, until it does. So we need to start preventing that, take action stop all this violence and make schools safe again. We need to make students and safe think nothing's going to happen, and it never does.

Anyone that buys the guns could have a good reason but now some people have bad reasons to buy them think the government should take a longer time to get a gun. I think that the government should make it longer to get a gun. In the US people can get guns in a day. All you need is your ID. You go to the store, pick out a gun, show then your ID and it's all yours. If the government made it take like a few weeks and the the person had a good reason. I think it would work a lot better. This idea will work because if it takes a long time to get a gun. No one will have guns. Also if the government makes it so the person has a good reason. Like hunting or something along those lines. They banned handguns and also have other really tough rules. The UK hasn’t had a school shooting since 1996 because of their rules about guns. If our government changes the rules about guns, I think that there would be less school shooting and people would feel safer. If the government takes time to think about this idea I think they could save a lot of people.

Even though students safety is big I didn't think it would real workout because student might get scared seeing a cop shooting a student are get scared seeing a officer with a gun walking around the school they go to, but after I’ve read articles about it, it changed my thought about it having a police officer can help with that, just with one police officer stopped an armed teenage student. According to New York Times “Many people remain unaware that schools in a dozen states … have already taken advantage of the states laws that allows schools employee to carry weapons.” So if teachers were armed it would not only make the terrified children feel more safe, but it would also make the school more safe and extremely prepared if there was a intruder.
Secondly, a lot of the school shootings happen in gun free zones. The percentage is 98%. Since most of the schools are gun free schools that means that shooters know that there is no danger if they got into the school. If we were to arm the teachers that enormous percentage would go down. There are 18 states that already allow armed teachers. Although there are many other things that would make schools safer but arming teacher should be the first thing they do because, it makes students more safe. It also makes the teachers the students protectors. President Trump defended arming teachers, he said “School shootings last about three minutes and that giving firearms to teachers and coaches would allow action before police arrive.” It is also said that the massacre at Sandy Hook elementary school in December 2012 was the tipping point of these shootings. Fifty to one hundred school are now armed. There was a meaningful proposal made about arming teachers. It said “Trump isn’t proposing arming all the nation’s teachers, just ones who are already gun adept and willing to carry a concealed weapon on campus.” If teachers were armed it would not only prevent shootings but make schools safer.
Next, there is already a school that has armed their teachers to make every student safe. In the state of Ohio there are many schools that have already armed their teachers, hoping other schools would follow and arm their teachers also. In Sydney, Ohio they spent over $200,000 on weapons to arm the teachers. There is a three day training camp that over 20 brave men and women attend to get them ready to keep and use a concealed weapon if needed. People met with over a dozen interested teachers, administrators, secretaries, custodians, bus drivers, and school nurses willing to carry a concealed weapon. To carry a weapon is not a necessity but it is allowed. Ohio has many schools that have jumped into action by arming their teachers, and by doing that their school is more safe. So why do we give it a try and see what happens.
Finally, i’m not saying that all teachers should be armed, but only the ones that are willing to carry and concealed a weapon. Think about this, you are sitting up against with the rest of your class and the principal comes over the loudspeaker and says there is a intruder. Everyone is hoping that the intruder doesn’t come and try to force themself into the classroom. The frightened students are hoping the teacher knows what to do and can protect everyone, but how can they do that if they don’t have anything to protect the students with? If the schools were to arm the teachers they would be prepared and ready to protect the lives of every student. Arming teachers will making every school much safer from any intruder.

ReplyDeleteMy overall idea is that all schools should have at least two security guards on duty at the same time, depending on the school size/number of students. They should be armed with pistols at all times as well, to ensure safety.
Different people from all over have an opinion on it, but here are just a few: “It’s like a watchdog,” says student Stephanie Ottosen, “...it keeps bad people away”. In a beauty salon interview, a reporter asked a mother of three children that are in school if having a security guard in their school would make her know that her kids are safer. “Oh, absolutely. Armed security guards increase safety. That’s why politicians, celebrities, concerts, etc., all have guards on duty - to keep people safe”.
There’s also proof that this idea has been put into use and it worked out tremendously. When a 14 year old student opened fire at an Atlanta middle school, a courageous officer was on duty and was quickly able to get to the student, take the gun away, and stop the shooting. Reports say that the student with the gun came to school through the regular front entrance, where there were also metal detectors. But, unfortunately, the metal detectors failed to detect the gun that was being carried.
All in all, I clearly think that schools should have security guards to keep the building safe. Even though there are many other ideas that could work, having security guards in schools is the best choice to go with, because they are well trained, hard-nosed professionals that care about the youth’s safety - who wouldn’t trust that?

A main task which would be patrolling the school, watching the doors, and operating the security devices. But there are the underlying things that the officers could do like take notes on students that may show symptoms of mental problems. The guards could report the parents of the kids. Then the child would have the opportunity to get help that they need inside or outside the school.
Well, another obvious benefit would be if there was a shooting in a school the guards could help by stopping the shooter or suppressing the effects. If a school was also to choose to check bags the guards would be able to perform that small task. Another proposal that the guards could do would stop and/or prevent bullying. Bullying would become less of a prominent issue in schools because the busy teachers sometimes don’t see it, but the guards would. In time I hope some changes will start happening.
Overall I feel that students would be much safer if guards were present. The evidence is here so why are we still waiting around. We know the drastic numbers of the shootings and I’m not just saying that this would solve everything. Although I think it would be a good start to keeping schools safe.

To keep schools safe there should be mental health test in all schools. According to the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, one in five kids experiences a mental health problem. They will most likely experience some mental health problems throughout all of the school years. Some of the mental health issues are stress, anxiety, depression, and bullying can cause most of them.
Some of the worst mental health issues are self-harm, suicide, a drinking problem and more. This behavior has Rosen mostly among the youth community. Sadly, estimations of up to 60% of students do not get the treatment they need. Of the ones that get help, nearly two-thirds do so only in schools. Research has shown that students are more likely to seek counseling when services are available in schools. In some cases, such as rural areas, schools provide the only mental health services in their community.
I think that mental health test in school will help because they could talk and get help. So then they would start to get better and nothing bad would really happen then. Mental health is not a joke if you need help get some help because we love everyone and want them safe

Highly trained, gun adept, teachers/coaches would solve the problem instantly, before police arrive.” This is a quote from our current President Donald Trump.
I believe that teachers should be armed in order to help better protect their students and our schools. Now i'm not saying we need to arm all staff members that are apart of the building, because that could be pretty overwhelming too some people, but a gun could be kept in a safe, in an easily accessible area that only teachers would know the code to. Like in Sydney, Ohio teachers keep a gun hidden in their break room, that is only accessible to teachers. They also have a few safes, holding more guns, and bullet proof vests hidden in closets around their school.
If teachers were armed at schools there would be multiple benefits. Arming teachers can help staff stop or even solve a threatening situation, like an attempted shooting. Also if we had guns in school it may make kids think twice if they were too ever have thoughts about harming their other classmates, because they could get hurt themselves in the process by the staff.
All in all, arming teachers could better protect their students, stop an attempted shooting, and even make kids think twice about ever harming another classmate knowing that they could just as easily get injured or killed by one of the staff members. When you walk right by the metal detector it will beep and you will get caught. To point out, there will be a trustful officer by each metal detector so they can catch you. What is important to realize, is there will be metal detectors by every doorway. So nobody would avoid it. They would be force to go through. For a metal detector, it is $3500 dollars. People are very anxious to get one. But again it is expensive for only one. But shooters are extremely violent and we want to protect our schools and kids. By all means, would you rather have safety in your school or no safety. Money Vs. Safety . To Conclude, this is how a metal detector works.
Why would metal detectors work? First on why metal detectors would work is because whenever you go through a metal detector it will beep if you have metal on you. So you would get caught right away. Secondly, It will stop people bringing in firearms. They already know what a metal detector is. Why would they take the risk? Thirdly, you can catch someone easier. To explain, the enraged shooter can just walk right into a school and shoot everyone. We don’t want to see that. Then you will see these terrified kids. Nobody can do anything. In meanwhile, metal detectors stop people from walking in with a weapon. So we can assume a peaceful school. Then nobody is hurt. Lastly, trusted officers would be right by the metal detectors. For extra assistance. So it could probably scare away the shooter. In this case, no shooter wants to deal with metal detectors and especially an officer. To conclude, this is how metal detectors will reduce the risk of people’s lives.

Most schools want to put up a metal detector so they don’t have to go through a shooting. Researchers/ reporters interviewed parents about school safety. Most frustrated parents said they would rather have their kids feel like there in prison than them being dead. Specifically, only 81 out of 1000 schools have metal detectors. We need more! Most schools that don’t have metal detectors or some kind of safety have school shootings. Therefore, people interviewed students if they should have metal detectors. As a result, out of 1600 people 60 % of them say they want metal detectors. These gastly kids want to be safe. When kids go to school we want to see them optimistic and cheerful here. Not alarmed.

The officers main job is to keep everyone safe, they will watch who comes into the school and there would be at least one officer in each school.
Next for the stats, even 78% of people say yes to having armed security officers in schools. Together with that ABC News says that armed security officers in schools are multiplying, so people are realizing this is a stupendous idea and are confident with it. Schools in Hartford, Connecticut have added security officers and more police authority around, as a result of this was less violence. This also isn't the first we've thought of this solution, in the 1990’s it was also considered one of the solutions to a mass school shooting.
Finally, April 12, 2018, the news article ‘ Va. county pushes for retired officers as armed security in schools ‘ by Matt Gregory, Phil Kauits from Prince William County School announces “ These people are trained already, they understand the needs they have the firearm safety training and all the protocols that goes with that.”. Additionally, in a different article ‘ Armed Security Officers in schools are increasing: Report’ by Erin Doodly, the National Association of the School Resource Officers Executive Director, Mo Canady tells ABC News “Sworn, certified law enforcement officers are a tremendous benefit in schools.” and “it’s gotta be the right officer, and they've got to be properly trained” It's obvious that putting an armed officer is the safe and effective way to go.
Armed officers are multiplying in schools, they know the protocols and have firearm safety. While it could be suggested that safety officers are not effective because of a recent incident, but these officers would be specifically trained and prepared for these certain situations. They will help keep the children safe from harm, and pernicious violence. All districts must have full time armed officers to keep everyone, especially the children safe.

According to www.tssbulletproof.com, inch-thick acrylic windows or otherwise known as bullet resistant windows, aren't effective without bullet resistant walls. Schools can make the walls bullet resistant by asking construction workers to build bullet proof walls by framing a standard stud wall. After doing this, they would put bullet resistant fiberglass panels on the studs. The resulting bullet proof wall can be finished just like any conventional wall it can be painted and wallpapered. It will be able to stop bullets as well and will act as a bunker, but any person who looks at the wall won’t be able to tell the difference between the bullet-proof one and a standard wall. So, the a school shooter won’t be able to shoot randomly through walls and hit innocent students in a spray of random bullets.
School districts should be changed by making special alarms, adding security gates and getting rid of dry walls and putting in bullet proof walls. This will help students feel safe at school. Overall, this will help students across the country.
Improving school safety is the most effective way to keep innocent student safe. Keeping better track of people who enter the school, and asking people who want to enter the building why they want to enter are important. Just those two things alone could prevent a tragedy. Taking more precautions every time someone enters the building will keep innocent students out of harms way.

One of the issues is when someone enters the school building they enter into the hallway instead of entering directly into the office. However, before anyone can even have a chance to enter the building they have to buzz in, but before they are allowed to enter the building they should be asked for a reason on why they want to enter the building. Mornings can be a problem in schools as well. It is a problem that could be easily fixed by having everyone enter through the same set of doors. Cameras are the biggest part of keeping schools safe. Having a camera at every entrance/exit can create a safer building all around. Making simple changes or adding small things can make a huge difference...if it would ever come down to it.
These small changes can help in many different ways. Having a door leading directly into the office will help enforce the rule of people signing in before entering the hallways. Before anyone can enter the building they should state a purpose for wanting to enter. Requiring someone to state their purpose before entering the school can give the office staff a little information, or an idea on why they want to enter. Although, everything that goes on during the school day is important; mornings can be one of the hardest times to keep track of what is going on. When everyone enters through the same door in the mornings it will be easier to increase supervision and/or security. With all the hustle and bustle of students coming in and going different places in the morning it can be hard to keep track of who enters; especially if they are entering through more than one entrance. Cameras could be one tool that can make that easier. Cameras being placed at entrances/exits can make it easier to keep track of who enters the building and when. Ensuring things are done correctly and safely is definitely important and can help provide a safer environment for students and teaching staff.
All of these different ways to help keep schools safer are in place at Cadillac Area Public Schools(Caps). According to Superintendent Jennifer Brown in an article by Alexander Sinn, Brown says, “We’re always evaluating our safety protocols for our kids through conversations with staff...We felt there was room for improvement…” At CAPS the main entrance during school hours leads directly into the office. Before anyone is allowed to enter the school they require a purpose to be stated before entering. This rule is enforced at their High School, Middle School, and Elementary school. Previously at CAPS’ middle school the, “students were allowed to enter through the auditorium doors but will now be required to enter through the main entrance.” Without these things in place Cadillac Area Public schools would not be as safe as they are with all of these things in place. Maybe these are the key things that could prevent any school from being in the crosshairs.
At school a students safety means just as much as an education.Students will be safer when entrances/exits are always being monitored. Even having something simple, like a door that leads directly into the office, can make a huge difference. Improving entrance security could be the one change that stops a tragic disaster.

ReplyDeleteFirst let’s start with the office, all schools should use a visitor management system so they can keep track of who is entering and leaving the school. Also make sure the secretarys sitting in the office have a panic button attached to the desk so they can click it and it automatically calls 911 if someone is threatening the school or is in the building doing harm.
Now let’s talk about doors and security, more into detail doors,cameras , and card I.D. Have doors where you can only open and enter when you either knock and someone from the inside opens it or use your Card I.d to unlock the door. Now to the cameras, using better cameras with microphones would help out so much with what’s going on. Also like who is a bully or who is going to start trouble. It would help out a lot if students knew that we are trying to decrease bullying and increase less harm in schools.
Everyone should feel safe at school, so let’s think about adding new things to keep our schools safe around the world. Let’s keep our kids from being bullied or becoming bullies. Over all let's just stop the violence in general.

Well it's where there has to be a trained and armed officer, that is brave enough to risk his/her own life to save other people's lives. Also that he/she has to help no matter what and has to be trusted as well. He/she has to be a dependable officer that the school nows will help no matter what.
Secondly, we know it will work. Because a lot of other schools have requested this several times such as the Long Island schools. Also it makes the kids feel safer/more confident, because they realize that there is a trained professional that will protect them no matter what cost. Even the Wisconsin Governor says he will will pay 100 mil for more security/hiring officers many school and many districts. It also helps gain trust through the whole community. According to, SpringField schools they said that they also suggested this several more times, because it actually works! Overall, it just prevents crimes in the school , because the officer will most likely catch anyone that is doing bad stuff.
It worked in many other places as well. Such as the school shooting in Maryland when a officer saved the whole school by risking his own life by responding to the shooter in less than a minute. Which made fewer people get hurt. There was one casualty the shooter later died because of his actions that day. This tactic has worked in many other places as well , so why not use it in all schools. Although it could be argued that school officers don't help it clearly helped, because like I said before in Mississippi that officer save many deaths. All in all, it worked in many other places as well.
Overall, having an officer at all times in any school proves to save people from getting injured. Such as when the officer saved a school shooting form happening in Mississippi. Also, many other occasions have been saved by having a patrol officer at their school.
You may be suprised to know that there have been 239 school shootings in America since 2014, which have taken 138 lives, according to the New York Times Analysis of Gun Violence Archive. There are many people who believe most, if not all of these deaths could have been prevented. When a school shooting occurs, who are the first people called? The police are the first people to respond to these emergencis. If the people who protect us in our everday lives are called right away, it doesn’t seem to make any sense why we don’t have them right there in the school to protect our children. To address the violent acts in schools, we need the people who keep our community safe, put into our schools. The police could do this.

It is intended to not only prevent hostile mass shootings, but to prevent the unintended consequences like suspensions and expulsions. They are able to take immediate action when the safety of the students is at risk much quicker than in the traditional schools. In fact the idea of police officers in schools can decrease the likelihood of mass shootings. To some it might sound extreme, but can we really over protect our children?
In past school shootings there was never a cop present in the school during the shooting. According to the Washington Post we currently have more than 43,000 school resource officers and an additional 39,000 security guards in the nation’s 84,000 public schools. This points towards the fact that we have the resources available for our schools in this country. Their focus is to keep kids safe, but also to create an environment where students feel safe. Many school police officers help students in other ways that include identifying bullies in the classroom and online. In addition, they prevent violence between students within the schools because they are well respected. Although it could be argued that having police officers in schools is not effective, but you can’t deny the fact that the first people called in a active shooting situation is the police.
The schools with police officers have been successful with the safety of the students. The principle of the Chicago Sullivan High School says, “The officers provide a higher level of security for the school and much more”. The majority of students respect the police and know they want to protect them meaning they will most likely be better behaved and more careful with their actions. Another example of how school police officers have worked it is in Auburn, AL. A man in camouflage was spotted carrying a gun on the school campus. The school police officer took immediate action and scanned the area until it was safe for everyone to emerge from the lockdown. If there wasn’t a police officer currently at the school at the time, a shooting could of erupted. In this case, the police officer’s presence was effective in preventing a dangerous situation from becoming far worse.
Police officers provide a higher security to ensure kids are safe in schools. To create safe schools in America we have to make sure we have police officers in schools. With police officers in schools a shooter knows he cannot get passed them to harm innocent kids. Our children are our future and they deserve to feel safe and protected while in school. We can ensure this by putting police officers in schools.

As of the year 2018 we have lost at least one person in every school shooting this year. According to CNN were only 16 weeks into 2018 and we have had a total of 20 school shootings. Based on true stories and events security changes has impacted schools across America.In Milwaukee,WI schools that have recently made new upgrades to security systems have noticed big impacts. Such as new security guards in school. Schools have noticed less violence and have had immediate help in any situation. Schools in Alabama have been Putting in Metal detectors. Students have been getting caught will item that should not be on school grounds. Lastly, students and teachers are being trained across the states on how to remain calm and know how to properly protect themselves. Students that have been taught have said they felt ten times more confident then they did before they were taught properly how to protect themselves. These ideas have been proven to work in schools, so why not use them in all schools across the U.S.
Security has been changing the way schools are ran across America. They have kept them a safe place where students can learn. Security will not only lower the chance of school shootings but the chance of everyday situations. Arming teachers is one of many great ways to help increase school safety. Now, before I start, I know that not all teachers are willing to hold a “ghastly” gun. But I never said every teacher has to be armed. There could be only one or two if that’s what the school decides to do. And the teachers don’t even have to have them with them at all times, it could be in a classroom gun safe.
That’s what a school in Riverside, Ohio did. In total, they installed thirty two gun safes around the school. In those safes, are semi-automatic pistols with a removable loaded magazine. Specially chosen teachers can access these dependable safes anytime if in danger. These teachers are chosen by the community district and they pledge to protect the attending students at any cost.
Arming teachers will work because the lethal shooters won’t be so reckless anymore. Because before a shooter could do whatever destruction they wanted know that there would be no one to stop them until the police got there. Now, knowing that there will be trained resistance trying to stop them, they might not be as out of control.

Also, many schools have cameras, but they aren't monitored or watched over. Schools would be safer with one certain person watching over the cameras at all times. Another idea, not many schools have cameras that capture everything. Getting cameras that have a 180 degrees or 360 degrees would allow authorities to see everything. According to KAKE, Abc Porsha Riley said 360 degrees cameras cost one hundred dollars for one camera.
How will adding security help schools? When one certain person is watching over the camera more things will be noticed. On the behalf of bullet proof windows, if a person came into the school trying to shoot inside the school the bullet proof windows will prevent innocent kids and teachers from getting hurt. It will be difficult adding more security to the building but however it will make parents, teachers, and students less nervous.
Why is adding security important? According to GVA(Gun Violence Archive),there has been a mass shooting everyday, in the last year all around the world. Many schools have cameras, but 25% of public schools don't have any cameras. Also, adding bullet proof windows would just be better for the school and people of the school in general. Although, adding security could be a problem for some schools it would be beneficial for everyone. All students should be able to go to school and feel safe.
School shootings are very serious things. Adding more security would be more than helpful for everyone. No kid or teacher should ever have to worry about big things such as school shootings. 1.4 is the amount of school shootings a week that has happened since January 1st. Studies from schools that have tested this idea have sound that these shelters can fit 30 kids and 2 teachers which is usually above the size of an entire class. Also it only takes 30 seconds for the class to get into the shelter and get to safety. that’s about the same amount of time it would take for a class to do their regular routine of getting to a safer part of there class lock their door and turn off the lights, but with the shelters there’s an extra level of assurance that your child will be protected.
Secondly, these shelters would be the best choice over almost all other ideas. This idea would be better than school’s having extra cameras or teachers carrying handguns, there’s just too many possibilities of things that could go wrong with those ideas. With these shelters you cut out all possibilities of chance. These shelters would also be able to be used in more than just a school school these shelters could also be used in the event of a tornado. These shelters are also very cost effective, but then again would you really put a price on your children's safety.
Clearly these shelters being put in all classrooms are the only way to stop a school shooting. These shelters could one day be the only thing standing that could stop a bullet from harming your child.

ReplyDeleteThe idea of getting more councelors in school is to help keep students safe. It might cost a lot but there are many benifits. For example students will learn to have more trust. Getting more councelors means not as many students per councelor. This helps students realize that there is some one they can go to no matter what.
This idea works because it will not only help build more trust, it will also build better relationships with students and adults. Student will get the help they need. The American School Councelor Association’s (ASCA) recommends 250 students per councelor.
Further more they give students a sense of belonging. If students are more close with adults they will be able to tell the things they would not tell anyone else. For example if their friend said something about violence, that student could warn the councelor.
In the end more councelors would result in better relationships, which leads to more trust. That’s how students will get the help they need. The government needs to bring in more councelors to keep students in school safe.
For years on end there have been several school shootings all around the world. Think if your a student or a teacher going to school thinking everyday somethings going to happen, or someone else your close to is going to die. I'm in middle school but i live in a small town but everyday i feel like anything could happen and it freaks me out a little bit. So i think it's good that we finally take actions to make schools safer, here are some ways.
ReplyDeleteWe could put metal detectors in all schools. They'll stop random students or staff from bringing weapons to school, because the detectors will detect the metal on weapons. If every student and teacher has to pass through them, it will cut weapon violence in all schools. Metal detectors cost a lot of money, close to $3000 - $5000, but it will help a lot.
The schools could start hiring police officers, and security guards, not only could they prevent from a shooter but they could break up fights, drug deals, shootings, and other threats. They should have full training so they know what to do and when to do it. When the metal detectors break down or have a malfunction there's someone to help right then and there. Also if u have an armed, fully trained guard they can stop all these things that are making schools unsafe stop.
Get more counselors, the more the better. Most people who bring the gun to shoot the school up probably needs some more mental help then anything. That why we need them because if a student or teacher feels the need to hurt a whole bunch of people, then that person should go see someone to talk to. If you think when there's violence there has to be a person who planned it so that person would have to think they need to hurt someone to feel better, when really they can talk to someone about it.
You always think it's not going to happen to you, until it does. So we need to start preventing that, take action stop all this violence and make schools safe again. We need to make students and safe think nothing's going to happen, and it never does.
Every year in the U.S. 11 million guns are bought. Everyday 52,600 guns are bought. Anyone that buys the guns could have a good reason but now some people have bad reasons to buy them think the government should take a longer time to get a gun.
ReplyDeleteI think that the government should make it longer to get a gun. In the US people can get guns in a day. All you need is your ID. You go to the store, pick out a gun, show then your ID and it's all yours. If the government made it take like a few weeks and the the person had a good reason. I think it would work a lot better.
This idea will work because if it takes a long time to get a gun. No one will have guns. Also if the government makes it so the person has a good reason. Like hunting or something along those lines. I think that it will work because people who have guns have a good reason and people who don’t just don’t have a gun.
This method works in the UK. In the UK they have some of the toughest gun laws. They banned handguns and also have other really tough rules. The UK hasn’t had a school shooting since 1996 because of their rules about guns.
If our government changes the rules about guns, I think that there would be less school shooting and people would feel safer. If the government takes time to think about this idea I think they could save a lot of people.

School officers will be visiting local schools during school hours and after school curricular activities. Many students incident students will be safe at schools. Students safety is the #1 concern in school. Having and officer at school has helped many different schools in different places.
Cherry Hill’s now have an armed officers. The officers are fully credentialed by the New Jersey Police Training Commission. The officers have been trained with many different situations that could go on at school Police Department has assigned three police officers at the Middle Middle school and 4 at the Elementary schools. 49 primary schools have started this fall. Some schools area adding another 75 police officers. By just having a local police officer at school will make the students at school feel much safer being at school with knowing that there is someone there to protect them.
In the article Cherry Hill Public High School Now Have Armed Police Campus Officers. School Superintendent Joseph Meloche sado assigning and arming the offices is “ the next step in our enhanced security.” One armed reliable police officer named Blain Gaskill who was on duty and had stopped an armed teenager after shooting two students at Maryland High School shooting. Having an officer at school could help prevent kids from fighting to something much bigger and worse, and officer can help by jumping in and helping the kids.
Even though students safety is big I didn't think it would real workout because student might get scared seeing a cop shooting a student are get scared seeing a officer with a gun walking around the school they go to, but after I’ve read articles about it, it changed my thought about it having a police officer can help with that, just with one police officer stopped an armed teenage student. Government/district should have a police officer in every school building.
