Science
Project for January 24, 29 & 30?
Will be due January 31st
Now that we have learned about the inner planets, let's start to learn about the 4 outer planets. We started this in the episode of The Universe that we watched on Jan 23. From that episode, we know that both Saturn and Jupiter were instrumental in how our solar system took shape. Now we will continue it by learning more about Jupiter and Saturn in a bridge activity. We'll be using the science textbook, some videos, as well as NASA's website about each planet.
When you are done, share something that you thought was interesting or important as a comment on this post. Then share your bridge activity with me!
Saturn/Jupiter Bridge Activity
Warm up for January 30
Jupiter - Show me when you get a 5/5. Then move on to Saturn.
Saturn - Show me when you get a 5/5. Then work on your Bridge Activity.

Saturn can float in water because of its surface.
ReplyDeleteI thought the red dot was interesting. what would it be like living in a non-stop storm?
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteI thought it was cool that Europa's surface is mostly water ice and there is evidence that it might be covering ocean of water or slushy ice benthe.
ReplyDeleteI think the fact that Jupiter has a hurricane the size of about two Earth's if cool. And that the fact that is over 300 years old. AND it is pretty cool that the size of Jupiter is ENORMOUS, but the core is only about the size of Earth.
ReplyDeleteI meant the hurricane is over 300 years old.
DeleteI think you're right
DeleteFacts
ReplyDeleteJupiter: The red spot is an atmospheric storm that has been raging in Jupiter’s southern hemisphere for at least 400 years.
Saturn: That there is no life on Saturn because There is no life on Saturn because if there is some kind of life, it would have to endure conditions that life from Earth could not possibly survive because there is too much fungus, bacteria.
I think that jupiters red dot because it was big now i know now it is a storm
ReplyDeleteI think that the red dot on jupiter was a place were there was a volcano but now I know it is a big non stop storm
ReplyDeleteI think we could live on Saturn or i think we can't
ReplyDeleteI thought this was cool if the sun were as tall as a typical front door, earth would be as small as a nickel and saturn would be big as a basketball. Also it was interesting to me that there might be life on Saturn's moons.
ReplyDeleteI thought the fact that some of Saturns moons might have life on them was interesting.
ReplyDeleteJupiter:Jupiter is has at least 63 MOONS!Ganymede is the biggest moon for Jupiter.
ReplyDeleteSaturn:I think that it was a good theory that a moon that surrounded Saturn crumpled into little peices and traves around the planet in a ring like shape.
The most coolest thing i read about was that for jupiter and saturn that they almost have the same amount of time on a day.
ReplyDeleteI thought that the fact that if we land a spacecraft on Saturn it would be crushed.
ReplyDeleteWhat i thought was interesting was that the "storm" is about as big as 2 earths!
ReplyDeleteWhat I thought was cool that was the atmospheric pressure on Mars is so great that it could crush nearly anything.
ReplyDeleteWhat i thought was interesting was one of saturns moons might have water on it
ReplyDeleteI thought the most interesting thing was that the center core of saturn has water, ice, rock.
ReplyDeleteWhat i thought was interesting was if the sun was tall as a typical front door the earth would be a nickel and saturn would be a basketball
ReplyDeleteThe most interesting was one of the moons called Titan. The scientists found water on that moon and they think it could be a start of a new earth. HOW COOL IS THAT!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was really cool that Jupiter has a storm that has been going on for 300 years.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was cool that the core of saturn was made of Ice, water and rock.
ReplyDeleteI thought the most interesting thing I learned about was about the Huygens Probe finding water on Titan.
