On October 11 2018, at 8:05 in Ms. DeVries’s room 126, Mr. Rueth (the principal) came into the room with a sad face and delivered a letter from the local school board. The letter said to take all challenged or banned books off of the shelf. The reporter doesn’t know why the books were banned, but he does know that the letter said the books are supposed to be removed until the local school board reviews their usefulness. Ms. DeVries’s class now hopes all of those books will come back onto the shelves soon. Then the slide show o the board changed showing “fake news”. After that everyone realized it was just a prank.

DeleteOn Thursday October 11th, 2018 all the students went to class like every other day, until 8:05am when Mr.Rueth came into room 126 with some mind blowing news. The Portage community school board had banned all banned or challenged books until they could “review their usefulness to education.” for the Portage Community School District. Or so they thought… but little did they know Ms.DeVries was teaching the class about fake news. The students were furious when they heard the news that Ms.DeVries had tricked them into thinking they had to give up their books that they loved so much.

DeleteHow many people have won a band competition? On October 13, 2018, at 5:30 the Portage marching band competed. The marching band competition was in Whitewater. The marching band was the first to play that night. They scored a 70.4 on the show. After they played they whole band had a good time. One of the section leaders good friend came from Colorado and watch their show. “He said they did really good.”
ReplyDeleteThey knew they would not get first because of Greendale. Greendale is a suburb of Madison. Which means they have a lot of money. Also with there show, they had caves and they changed their uniform. Greendale scored 90 points on their show. Portage’s marching band year is over but the whole band had a lot of fun.

DeleteThis Weekend a kid named Hudson got a six kill win in a game name Fortnite. He was excited because season six just came out and that was his first win of the season. He just wiped a squad of 3 and got a solo so he is up to 4 kills. The last two guys had the high group is what His partner Fred said. He had a third friend playing with them but he got killed while fighting. He shot one of the last guys down and knocked him and it was all down to one guy to kill both of Them. Hudson had a sniper and killed him with a headshot and he got his Vicotory Royal #1.
ReplyDeleteHow many people have gone hunting. About one week ago I went hunting with my dad. It was a sunny morning. Me and my dad hunted that morning also that afternoon. That next morning and afternoon the next day. The last night of hunting season it was really windy I thought that we weren't going to see any deer. We saw two does that day. In all we saw nine does. I think it was a good hunt to see deer. Then we were so mad when we were done. When we came back from hunting we saw a big buck. It bummed us out to see that there but not on our land.

ReplyDeleteMysteriously on the sunday of Oct. 14. A family was headed to a baseball game. The family's car had burned up most of their gas, so they stopped at the local Kwik Trip. The mom got a coke and her two boys got cheetos. They left the gas station and packed there things way into the car. Later during the fourth inning, the youngest boy was extremely thirsty. So he snuck down to the car, and chugged his moms coke, chucked the coke into the glove box and headed to his seat. The game had ended 0-4 and the mom said at least I have my coke. The kid just smiled.
Very funny, I certainly wouldn't drink my mom's coke.

DeleteOn Friday, October 13th, Katelynn’s sister came home from college. Katelynn was sad that her sister was going to be home at 10pm tonight.The one thing she knew was that there was going to be a lot of drama. Katelynn and her sister don't get along. When it was 9:55 Katelynn was getting really happy that her sister was almost home. When she got home she was bright red like a tomato. She told us that she was laying on the beach, and got sunburned. Lucky for katelynn’s sister Katelynn put aluevara in the freezer for her. The next morning she wasnt that red, but she said it still hurts. What are they going to do? Can they go into the sun?They said they are going to have a lazy day. A lazy day is when they watch movies and play games. According to Katelynn she won on the game frogger, but others say different.

ReplyDeleteFriday sep. 28. Bartels Middle School is doing an exciting science project ! I saw a lot of rockets getting shot off all of the rockets were very well built and they went very high . I think all of the students did very well 6th hour but there were 3 that stood out and those 3 were Hudson T. , CJ C. , and , Tyson M. . There rocket looked very well built and was designed very well and it got the closest to the moon award. There rocket went higher than everyone else's at 300ft . Hudson said it was very exciting .
If you wanted to see something cool with electricity you should of been to the science festival in Madison wisconsin. On 10-11-18 there was many things there like hearts,organs and other body parts. The science festival was there so that people and students can learn about anything and everything about science. One thing at the science festival is different ways to make electricity. There was one way to make electricity is by jumping or walking on a static rug. There was many people watching all the different ways to make electricity. Also one of the other cool thing is they use a lemon as a conductor to past electricity though. Also they use pennies with card board soaked with a type of oil it makes electricity. So will you be there at a science festival near you.

DeleteOn Sunday, October 14 at 6:52 p.m family & friends were celebrating Diana´s 24th birthday, they all arrived and while waiting for a table they all got drinks. When a table opened they went and ordered Diana ordered her food, her younger sister ordered for her other two younger sisters & her nephews, afterwards her parents, later her friends, the waitress left everyone started to have different conversations, about 30 mins later everyone's food arrived. When everyone finished, ¨It looked like a tornado flew around the entire room, there was food all over the ground.¨ said Diana. Afterwards the waitresses decided to give her a cake, as the waitress was making her way over to Diana, she slipped the piece of cake flew over & smashed onto Diana's lap, her, there were chunks of vanilla cake all over her hair, her mom who was sitting next to her, got a tiny splash of the cake on her hair. Everyone just stared not knowing what to do, or say, now it's about 8:48 pm the waitress starts apologizing profusely saying how shes sorry. Afterwards the manager came into the conversation, she said ¨i'm sorry for the accident, i would like to offer you $50 off your bill¨ Diana was considering the offer, and she kept looking at her mom eyeing her, so she ended up saying yes. Afterwards Diana, her friends & family ended leaving having a laugh.
ReplyDeleteOn monday october fifteenth two-thousand eighteen at 1:05 in the afternoon during, gym class I had noticed that kids have been cheating on the activities. While we were playing everybody's it tag and they had decided to have an alliance and not tag each other but the other kids. They also cheated when we were playing soccer and they used their hands but one of them got caught by Ms.Parasill and had a talk with her and another thirteen-year old boy had noticed it too while we were playing and said that it was dumb and less fun then what it’s like without alliances and actually playing the game correctly. I think that kids should play the game correctly and nobody should cheat to have fun during games.
