Thanksgiving

Reading Class

As we continue to work on our nonfiction reading abilities, let's take some time to learn more about Thanksgiving.  For this activity, we will be filling in a K-W-H-L chart.  I'll explain it to you in class.

When you're done, comment with the most interesting thing you learned about Thanksgiving.

  1. The most interesting think I learned was that the original Native Americans didn't eat turkey, for thanksgiving they at corn, squash and many other things.

  5. What I thought was really interesting was that only half of the Mayflower's original crew and passengers survived long enough to see their first New England spring. There were 102 passengers on the Mayflower in the beginning.

  6. I learned that originally there was 102 pilgrims on the mayflower but only 44 pilgrims lived.

  7. i learned that when the Pilgrims wanted to go to Massachusetts but instead they want somewhere else.

  10. That the Pilgrims had a feast after they left in 1621 and it was a corn harvest.
